I Need Advice Please

First, accept the fact that everyone will have a mouse in their house at some time. Don't give them a reason to stay. I live on a dead end street with a business area on the other side of a big wall. Mice come from those buildings. Everyone on my little street has mice now and then.

Do you have a paper shredder? Empty it every time you use it. Mice love that paper for their nests.
Put any food that is not in the refrigerator in something mice can't chew through - heavy plastic, metal - not cardboard. That includes food you have in your cupboards. Cardboard boxes, bags, etc. I have a bin on my dishwasher and one in my utility room to put things like that in. Or, if you have room in your frig, put it in there.
They hate bright lights. Leave your kitchen light on all the time when it's dark outside.
Get some mint oil. Don't add water. Put a few drops at door entrances.
Empty your kitchen garbage every night. Put it outside in a trash bin.
As suggested earlier, get a cat.

Mice are cute on paper, but not in your house.

Some cats, and dogs are good mousers; some will just watch the mice and give you a "so what?" look.
Plug the holes, throw some Decon or other poison in places that pets and children can't reach; I prefer multiple traps, including the sticky kind.

Enjoy!
I agree about the cats. My three watched a mouse walk across the living room floor. They SAT there, and WATCHED.
BTW, I use traps to get rid of them. I'm not too sure the poison works all that well. I've put out those decon dispensers, and had mice, since then .but none of them ate the poison.

How can I get rid of mice in the house without
using traps?

Any ides will be studied gratefully.

Mike.
I haven't used this method, but Oil of Peppermint used to soak cotton balls in specific areas is supposed to deter mice. I imagine you would have to reapply the peppermint oil when needed. Good luck!
