I need new parts,

I bet that day is coming. Probably artificial bone or lab-grown bone. And I bet it will include spine replacement, too, when they find a way to support your nervous system and manipulate your spinal column during the replacement. Or maybe they'll find a way to just grow a new spine inside you - like, they sort of implant the "seeds" and while the new spine grows, the old one sheds and sort of dissolves and gets absorbed.

for this old body....2 hip joints, 1 right knee, 1 left hand, new spinal column,
that should do it......
Sounds like you could qualify for being a bionic man when all are complete. No one needs to tell you that the pain accompanying each will be great & opioids are limited now.
WARNING
While scotch is a great pain reliever to much with hips, rt knee & spine could cause falls

Joking aside I wish you the best with any of those surgeries.

My wife needs both knees replaced and can't walk, plus she has problems with her shoulders and can't do much of anything these days. I've become her caregiver and have to do all the cooking and cleaning and shopping and everything else, but it's not that bad, I guess. Life could be worse. At least my body is still holding up for the most part. I have a bum knee but can still get around, although sometimes with a gimp. I keep hoping that exercise will eventually help me overcome it. It might actually be making it worse but I'm not one to just wait for a problem to solve itself.

I have two artificial hips, and I consider them to be an absolute blessing. Before I got them, I really could not walk, and now I can. I woke up after the first surgery with WAY less pain than I had had in a long time. They replaced the most painful one first and the second one 30 days later. It was like being reborn!

Similar situation here. 1 hip, 1 knee, 1 shoulder & back/neck surgery.

Since I live alone, they will not let me come home afterwords, and insist on 15-30 days in a convolescent facility .... for each. Not something i want at all. So as you pointed out later on ...... I too just deal with it one day at a time.

The shower scares the hell outta me !
