I passed out in the kitchen this morning

I didn't go to the ER because I already went 5 months ago for this same thing....pain. It cost me over $2000 /with Medicare- A&B. I only have about $7000 left to my name. We were pretty sure it was a reaction to the meds and it did pass like we thought. I have a do not resuscitate bracelet also. Nothing macho about our decision. I am only getting about $700 in SS and that just about covers my expenses, but that is not quite enough either. I have called my old dentist, and we will discuss whether my jaw and teeth might be involved in causing the pain. My Doctor I have had for 15 years. He is retiring next month, and I have to see a new doctor in Feb. What a mess.
So much to deal with, sorry for that. Hoping issues can become more positive for you.
I understand financially you’re between a rock and a hard place……very sorry…..places that put fees before a persons health really sucks…….should NOT be that way.
Do the best you can, get help, we’re all here for you.
Please take care.

@Paco Dennis
I wondered if you meant, in the OP, that you had stopped that pain med suddenly, a few days prior, which might have partially caused the episode.....

Regardless, I am glad you are doing better, and I will be thinking of you and Misa.

Yes, we are almost sure this is what happened. I got a cold about 5 days ago and stopped using THC during the day because it felt bad with the cold. THC lowers blood pressure, so when I used it my blood pressure was pretty normal to a bit high, then I used what I had been used to for months but my blood pressure dropped fast, and I fainted. I googled "fainting and THC", and there were a LOT of websites saying about the same thing. I learned a lot by having this episode....and I am certainly not going to repeat it. :)

Oh I am sorry to read this. Missed it earlier. I can understand your hesitation at the ER but I hope all will be OK until you can see the MD. A ridiculous wait. But if you feel you are in a life threatening situation, please go to the ER.

I was able to take a small amount of THC this afternoon. 1/8th of what I use to do. It has helped a lot. I have a weird conflict about using THC to control my pain. I never in all my years used pot as a pain reliever...it was just fun. Now having seen the ENT and him confirming that my neuropathy is idiopathic, I have no where to go but back to my primary. As we age the details of our ailments seem to get more complex. It is interesting how much help and information is passed on here on the SF. Some how "we will get by". :)

Yes, Urgent Care! I had cellulitus once and called on Monday, telling them of the pain and swelling, but they were going to get me in on Friday! I went right to Urgent Care instead that day and after looking at my arm they wheeled me to Emergency for IV antibiotics. Had I waited til Friday, Friday may never had come for me!

My legs gave out once or twice from too low a BP when I was taking a beta blocker for BP. My BP at those times was in the same range as your 85/52. I stopped taking the beta blocker and was prescribed something else so no more weak knees. You could take 1/2 a pill until you talk to your doctor.

@Paco Dennis, I'm glad you're O.K., I hope you can get some more suitable medical Tx.

I'm assuming you're taking the Indica variety of THC, 100mgs is quite a bit, about 20X what I used to take for sleep. But, if you're in constant pain I can see that.
VERY IMPORTANT: I made a mistake. I do not take 100mgs of THC. That is how much there is in a package of 10. I take at the most 12mgs. at a time.

I agree with Don M.

I can hear my children saying....
"Are you drinking enough water?"...as they are always saying to me.

I can hear myself say " Are you taking your Vitamin B complex? and eating a little kale, broccoli, asparagus? for which I will be severely punished for saying the "Kale" word in SF...20 push-ups! :giggle: Yes, check with your doctor of course...and take care 🤗...seriously

kale, broccoli, & asparagus ...... While I like all three .... what are the benefits of them in this case ??

A personal tribute: Kale in particular is magical for me in proper portions and prepared properly (I wash it, dry it, massage it, and add a teensy bit of olive oil). I add it to sandwiches, omelets, mixed salads, garnishes, pasta dishes, etc. And always at the last minute because overcooking it sucks all it's power out. It heals me all over inside and out...aches and pains that when nothing else seems to work. It may not work for others; it may be bad for others; it's a personal choice.

Thanks for the reply .... I think I'll do a little digging [research] on all three.

I just eat them due to my mothers cooking when i was a kid. I aquired a taste for them.

I eat Broccoli & Aspargas more than I do Kale, but perhaps I'll up my intake of it .

I lost consciousness and fell in the kitchen. Misa woke me up. I couldn't get off the floor for a while, and then could only sit. My blood pressure was very low. I slept about 4 hours last night fitfully dealing with a lot of pain. My pain medication caused the loss of consciousness. I hadn't taken any in about 4 days because I caught a cold and it made me feel horrible. The pain meds have a side effect that is a little annoying.
Seems to me you need a different/new doctor.

@Paco Dennis How are you doing now? Any improvement?

The pain has gotten worse, so I called my Doc and he prescribed Tramadol. It is an opiate but he gave me only 14 pills, 50mgs...twice a day when needed. It also has put me in a funky mood...it is hard to get involved in life. It is kind of a depressant. I am going to to see him next Monday, and go over some options...but I really do not know where I going from here. I can sleep about 6 hours but wake up with terrible pain. I take a Tramadol and feel wiped out the rest of the day. I am going to make a effort to stay active and that is going to be a challenge. Thanks for asking.

Sorry to hear you're having such a bad time, it's unfortunate that the tramadol has such a negative effect on your overall mood. :( I hope you can get some relief and feel a bit better soon. Please take care.

I second all of this, @Paco Dennis
and like @Jules
I too had been thinking of you and wondering how it's going for you.

I am wondering if you would be able to only take one per day, to get some sleep, at night, and not the 2nd one, which makes it terribly difficult to do anything or enjoy anything.
Though I comprehend that the pain might be too much difficult for that.
I hope your doctor gives you some different helpful idea, and very soon.

I'm not sure if this was brought up before - but if you are experiencing pain from your mattress (waking up "with terrible pain") you might consider getting another mattress if it's old. Just a thought.
