I pine for the female singers of the past....

Ria Valk Rockin' Billy

Do you really still love me, Rockin' Billy? Or is your love already over? Really, I'm starting to have some doubts now. It's so lonely on the farm. Why don't you ever write to me, Rockin' Billy? Since you went to America? Because you said I could come over. Once you got there, darling. I haven't seen a letter in two years.

Maybe you don't have a pen and paper there. Do you really still love me, Rockin' Billy? Or is your love already over? Really, I'm starting to have some doubts now. It's so lonely on the farm. In America, you were going to start a liver pate factory. You didn't have the money for that, Rockin' Billy. So you borrowed it from me. I hesitated at first because I didn't want to. But you promised me love and loyalty.

Do you really still love me, Rockin' Billy? Or is your love already over? Really, I'm starting to have some doubts now. It's so lonely on the farm.

You took all my furniture too. and clothes To that faraway America Because you were probably going to decorate our house And so I sighed and said, "Okay." Please send me my beautiful mattress again Because that's where my money and my passport are

Not sure I have really followed or bought anything from a female solo singer since
the mid-70s. They began to copy each others styles it seemed to me and definitely
not since the clothes began disappearing. Stevie Nicks could look sexy without showing it all.

Lena Horne was my dad's favorite. And you mentioned 2 of my faves; Billy Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. Whitney Houston is another.

The quality of this video needs to be remastered but the quality of Lara Fabian's voice still sounds masterful.
And I still have a big crush on her.

A lot of female singers that are popular now sound so alike, people know them by their songs instead of their voices.
