I really miss hugs.

One of the many casualties of this current situation with Covid-19 is physical contact. I am and always have been a very tactile person. I hug, touch, pat, give lots of hugs and kisses to the grands and step grands, always hug my kids and step kids hello and goodbye, some of my clients too (the ones who have become like family I've been working for them for so long) I just....it's just my way.

Ron and I still hug and kiss of course. But I'm keeping my distance from everyone else for both our sakes. And it's really, really hard. I dropped some stuff off at my son's house yesterday. Not being able to hug him when I left felt like a physical ache, and I cried a little.

I'm really struggling with this, more than any other aspect of the virus so far other than my heightened anxiety. 😢

You know they were talking about this on the coronavirus discussion show yesterday . They really feel that the habit of handshakes, and hugging ( other than close family members) will potentially die out because of Covid-19... and instead we'll all just nod to each other or ironically as the Chinese do..hold hands, in a prayer like greeting with a slight bow...

Gawd I just had a thought, how much worse would the Asian (China, Korea, Japan et al) casualty numbers have been if they'd been handshaking nations?

Well, it might get even worse......Just heard on radio that, even after the 'cure', and the immediate threat has past.... handshakes & buffets may become a thing of the past thanks to COVID.....No more 'lickable' stamps & or envelopes either.....Do ya really think it will go that far?

I hug my dog, too.

So sorry you are missing the hugs Ronni but you seem to get plenty from Ron to make up for it. We'll be back to normal before you know it. This is just something we all need to do for the sake of others.

Hey...love salad bars too much to "toss the buffets"...lol. My hub will even eat beets as long as its under a sneeze shield.
Be careful.

My grandson just texted me to see if we were OK....He had to come home from college, just like most of the world....
It's nice to be loved....Let's all remember that at this time....(some are not) We don't need politics here....If not, I'm gone....
It's not the time to trash someone....Even though someone didn't mention the name but it was blatant....

We used to greet our dancing friends with a peck on the check and a hug ,swap a dance or two
We don’t have any dances to,go to now until we are free of this curse :cry: that was not only our way of Keeping fit but our social life to a huge extent as well

We always hug our 15 yo / 25 yo GD ‘s as well the younger one usually runs to the door when she hears our car come in the drive way ..we are staying away for her and the Daughters sake as well as the daughter works I aged care so we need to be careful for our sake and hers

I didn't even think about dancing - 6 feet between partners makes it really tough. /-; Hope you can dance together in the comfort of your own home - Good for morale and your health.
