If It’s Noon in New York City?

right. If it's a "new" post it will say something like "35 minutes ago." Which means it posted 35 minutes ago (regardless of time zone). When it's an older post and it says "Posted 2:35 PM" that time is YOUR time it posted, regardless of which zone the poster is in. So, it could it was 6:35PM their time, but for you it was 2:35PM.
yes but the OP wanted to know what the actual real time was when other people posted... not what was showing on her computer...

Back in the 60's, Indiana, where I lived, had a snit about daylight savings time and wouldn't change one year. As a result, there was "state time" and "federal time". Any form of transportation....bus, train, plane...that crossed a state line operated on "federal time". Any transportation between Indiana cities operated on "state time".

Thus, if you were catching a bus that went directly from Indianapolis to Chicago, you left at 3:00 p.m. "federal time". If the bus was going to Fort Wayne, Indiana, it left at 3:00 p.m. "state time". If it stopped at Fort Wayne on the way to Indiana, it left Indianapolis on "state time" and then left Fort Wayne on "federal time."

As you can imagine, it was an absolute disaster.

Another weird time factoid. India operates on a 1/2 hour thingamabob. If it's 12 noon in New York, it's 9:30 p.m. in New Delhi. Who's sitting on the half hour? And where did it go?

If it’s noon in NYC, what time is it where you are?

When I look at the time someone made a post, I wonder what time it was for them.

It would be 9 a.m. for me.
Kansas is CDT so like right now it's 9:23 PM but in NY it's 10:23 PM.
