If It’s Noon in New York City?

If it’s noon in NYC, what time is it where you are?

When I look at the time someone made a post, I wonder what time it was for them.

It would be 9 a.m. for me.

When I worked full time, time zones were important because I worked with people all over the world and on both US East and West coasts. So for me, it is easy:

1 hour ahead for the East coast and 2 hours behind for the West coast.

you're just getting long in the tooth.....

Your teeth are longer than mine by about 11 years
😂

Ca, or Pacific time would be 3 hours prior. NM in Mountain Standard Time is 2 hours prior. Then there is Central Standard Time and Pacific Standard Time. Right?

I remeber driving up from Nashville to Indianapolis and thinking I had plenty of time to return the hire car until I realised there was a one hour time difference between Tennessee and Indiana. Big panic!!

Florida has two time zones, too. The majority of the state is on Eastern and part of the Panhandle is on Central. You cross the river and BAM!, you're an hour younger. Unfortunately, that means that you age rapidly on the way back.....
How confusing...lol...thankfully the whole of the UK & GT Britain Scotland England , Ireland & Wales are in the same time zone.

France , Spain, Germany & Holland our closest neighbours are an hour ahead of us... as is most of western Europe..

The time "posted" should reflect your time zone when you are reading it.

it does, but it doesn't reflect the local time of the person who is posting next to you....onlyyour time..

ie..it says you posted 35minutes ago...well that would be 8.30pm... here
right. If it's a "new" post it will say something like "35 minutes ago." Which means it posted 35 minutes ago (regardless of time zone). When it's an older post and it says "Posted 2:35 PM" that time is YOUR time it posted, regardless of which zone the poster is in. So, it could it was 6:35PM their time, but for you it was 2:35PM.

It would have been much the same if you had hired the car in Chattanooga. It might be in the same State as Nashville, but whereas Nashville is in the Central Daylight Time, Chattanooga is in Eastern Daylight Time. Or one hour ahead.
