If there was any doubt left it should be gone now about Bill Cosby!

The recent disclosure that he used quaaludes to have sex with women is surely the smoking gun that most knew had to be Laing around somewhere...

Don't know about those you mentioned, but when it comes to men and sex I tend to believe the accuser until proven otherwise, especially when the numbers of accusers starts adding up...

I thought you would have heard of Rolf Harris and Jimmy Saville.
Savile is dead, Harris and Hughes are in prison.

Don't you get any news from the UK?
Google them. It's not a pretty story.

I never for one moment doubted that these women were telling the truth.... Too bad they had to wait until Cosby admitted it himself before they were believed.

Sealed documents, confidentiality agreements and/or gag orders along with payouts are usually a tell.

Not surprised but disappointed. Even though he was good public role model of sorts being a college graduate, success story and spoke out against inner city crime one must wonder if that public persona was used to deflect or distract from allegations rather than altruism. Or perhaps some guilt.

No doubt left at all.
Same with Rolf Harris and Jimmy Savile and Hey Dad star Robert Hughes (Australian TV).
All public angels and house devils.

Where Harris and Saville are concerned, they always made me cringe seeing them on TV, especially Saville, there was always something about him that didn't sit well with me.

I didn't see this thread, Ralphy1 - might want to modify title so people can readily see it's about Bill Cosby. (I just posted a thread about LAPD opening up investigation of Cosby)

I see where Whoopi Goldberg is vehemently defending him in spite of his own admission that he is a damn dirty rapist pig. I have loved Bill since his first album was published way back, but I had no idea he was the nasty pig he is. Now just looking at his ugly face makes me wanna puke.

LAPD opens investigation against Bill Cosby, statute of limitations won’t matter

After the removal of Bill Cosby’s statue at Disney in Hollywood, networks dropping reruns of his hit television shows, and an admission of drugging a woman with the intent to have sex, the Los Angeles Police Department is finally opening an investigation against comedian.

According to ABC News, the LAPD will look into every single case made against Cosby, including ones that are expired beyond the statutes of limitations. The Associated Press found that Cosby admitted in court in 2005 that he had a Quaaludes prescription, so he would be able to drug women he wanted to have sex with. The case was settled. He has been accused of sexually assaulting close to 40 women spanning five decades.

If Whoopi was white would she still have defended him

If Whoopi was white would she still have defended him
How can we answer such a question?
If you were black would you be asking it? And, for your information not all blacks think like Whoopie Goldberg. Furthermore Whoopie defended Roman Polanski, who, last I checked IS still white.

So...hope that clears things up for you.

IMO, one of the most despicable aspects of this is the fact that there were probably plenty of women throughout Cosby's career who would have gladly had sex with him if only so they could say, "I had sex with Bill Cosby." Groupie types. But he apparently preferred drugging and raping them. That's what got him off. Ick.

When the allegations first emerged about Saville I wasn't a bit surprised, he was a slimey smarmy piece of work, I spoke to my children who used to watch his kids show and they told me they weren't surprised either..............after all what came out about Saville, I wasn't a bit surprised about other so called celebrities, call me cynical if you like but in my opinion they hid behind their celebrity status and thought they were untouchable.

I think the sex scandal that surprised me the most was the one involving Jeff Smith... The Frugal Gourmet. Remember him? He ended up paying off seven plaintiffs, who accused him of sexual abuse while they were in their teens.. All were males..

Fortunately we had Julia Grownup at the same time. My daughter called her Julia Grownup because she wasn't a child...

Vaguely, but my kids thought that Julia was funny and they would watch her but no other food shows. These were the days of just one TV and Saturday mornings had to be negotiated. I made deals with them so that I could watch Thelassa Crusoe, if I have her name right, who was I wild, transplanted English gardener who had married an Amrican serviceman. She would divide plants with a meat clever while telling us that we were too gentle with our plants in this country...
