No doubt humanity is a victim of our thoughts and actions; how do we isolate the disease? First, contain it to prevent new infection then eradicate from all mankind.
Wait, the Vulcans don’t exist? But, but, Spock, Spock isn’t real? Crushed, I am crushed.Uh, was being facetious, but now that you mention it, so what? Doesn't mean we can't learn a thing or two!![]()
Sad.Spock is dead. Poor guy died of lung cancer.
Didn't Homer Simpson drink that 'stuff'?Duff Beer.
Actually, he died of COPD from smoking. His lovely widow does a TV commercial about it, saying he always thought he would die of lung cancer, but his smoking gave him a different end than he expected.Spock is dead. Poor guy died of lung cancer.
Ah! Oscar Wilde: He also said, "If you want to tell the people the truth, make them laugh. otherwise they'll kill you!"Didn't Homer Simpson drink that 'stuff'?
Oscar Wilde : Humanity takes itself too seriously. It is the world's original sin. If the cave man had known how to laugh, History would have been different.
Being kind, being sensitive, being understanding, being appreciative, being respectful - I could go on ☺
Don M.: Might not be a cheery post, but you are RIGHT ON! You must be psychic. The rest of this year will be in turmoil as we've never imagined! Lifting the quality of thought may help but it's already in the works. Fasten your seat belt!Humanity is rushing headlong to a "tipping point". A combination of Global Warming AND Overpopulation is going to create a crisis unlike anything we've ever seen.....quite possibly before this century is over. Presently about 10% of the global population lives in poverty, and that number is rising every year. Automation and robotics is replacing more human labor every year, and that, combined with unchecked birth rates is going to only widen the gap between the Have's and Have Nots. A UN study, a few years ago, placed the sustainable human population at about 5.8 billion....we are already over 7 billion, with estimates as high as 12 billion by the year 2100.
Rising sea levels, due to climate change, is going to render many of the coastal cities uninhabitable within the next century, and displace 10's, perhaps 100's of millions who will left with little other than what they can carry, as they migrate further inland.
All this is going to lead to unrest that will make today's "protests" seem like a unruly backyard party. There will be a global uprising pitting the Haves vs. the Have Nots, and the result will be a drastic decrease in the human population.
If the Have's come out on top, the world will begin to unite under a common government, and mankind will begin a reach for the stars. If the Have Nots win, humanity will revert back to the Dark Ages.
Had I known what I know now, about this screwed up world, I would have remained celibate. None of us will see this chaos, but our grandkids and beyond will face a world that only Hollywood can describe in some of their doomsday movies.

Humans have forgotten the basic rules of "Supply and Demand".....and our Supply of humans is rapidly exceeding any Demand for their labor and efforts. Couple that with the abuse of our environment, and the rising temperatures, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to predict the future problems. We are very near the point where nothing we do will reverse, or even slow down, what is surely coming.
Contain what disease? If you're talking about the disease of human existence. I wouldn't worry about it.No doubt humanity is a victim of our thoughts and actions; how do we isolate the disease? First, contain it to prevent new infection then eradicate from all mankind.

Sad to say though, I've seen too many people turned jaded and cynical. There must be some deep hurts in their past that they don't know how to/ refuse to accept kindness offered to them. They put up walls instead of letting people in. I cannot blame them, but hopefully, they find at least one person to trust.Being kind, being sensitive, being understanding, being appreciative, being respectful - I could go on ☺
