If you could change something what would it be?

I would like all children to be born equal no matter what their situation; a child born into poverty would have the same quality of education, life and opportunity as a child born into wealth. So many smart and capable children fall by the wayside because they never got a chance to shine. When we fail the children, we get the adults we deserve.
That was the problem communism was supposed to solve and one of the reasons Marx came up with his theories.

Communism works well on a small scale. There are communes that have been successfully operating for 50 years and longer. On a large scale, such as in China, N. Korea, Cuba, et. al., they wound up with dictators who are only in it for their own interests, which is why they make life miserable for the proletariat class.

To improve society, we need to ask: why are some children born into squalor while others are afforded all the luxuries one could imagine? They didn't do anything to put themselves in those situations. They were just born that way through no fault or effort of their own.

With communism, everyone would be born into the same class and would be afforded the same opportunities. That's how it works in theory, anyway. I'm not advocating for communism, but there's got to be a better system than what we have right now.

I would improve our educational system and make it affordable for everybody. Same with our healthcare system.
Restore a middle class in America. Make life easier and affordable for all.
Offer social programs for people in need, including our seniors.
Get rid of lobbyists and capitalist greed.
...I guess I already exceeded my number of wishes, LOL!

Make mr David Emperor of the Universe, and my first decree here in the USA will be the construction everywhere of free clean public restrooms, drinking fountains, trash dumpsters, and many more free to park at highway rest areas, plus nation wide supported servicing crews to support and keep such clean, paid for with business taxes.

No, I'm not advocating for communism either, just a fairer chance for children who are born into poverty. The bit in bold ^^^ describes it better than I did. (y)

So true! There was a farm near us that had peacocks. You could hear their shrieks for a mile! Beautiful birds to look at, but you don't want to live near them. ;)

Yep. We probably lived about 5 miles from the San Diego zoo when I was a kid but we could hear both them and the clock tower in Balboa park
