Well I’ve never been to it either. I didn’t know it existed until I made my post. The nicest restaurants I’ve ever been to was when I was in grade 8. We travelled by bus to BC and stayed in fancy hotels. This was by far the nicest place I ever stayed at. It was in Whistler BC.

I’ve been to plenty of wedding receptions where the food was top notch but the other famous restaurant I went to was a surprise dinner date at the CN Tower in Toronto.
The scenery was spectacular as was the food and company.

I would like a restaurant that served both seafood and steak. On the menu would be fresh fish grilled by order, where the customers can see the preparation from a distance. Fish would be choices like Mahi Mahi, Halibut, Salmon, etc. Shellfish like king crab, clams, mussels and lobster dishes for those who like.

Steaks would be a variety, Filet Mignon, Rib Eye, etc. Also freshly grilled by customer's order.

Appetizer soups would be something like New England clam chowder and French onion soup. Dessert would be something like Key Lime Pie or ice cream with fresh berries.

Colors in the restaurant would be natural and peaceful, some warm teals and gentle greens. A few large beautiful saltwater aquariums would be there for diners to enjoy. Music would probably be familiar rock music, only the mellow instrumental versions, playing quietly in the background.

The dress code would be just comfortable, nothing formal. Seating would be private cozy booths of varying sizes depending on the party. Dim lighting surrounding the dining areas, but not so dim that the menu cannot be read.

I would like the diners to leave feeling satisfied, relaxed and happy that they came.

There is a lot to be said for that. I'm pretty much the same way. I much prefer an intimate dinner over one in a crowded restaurant, but I'll go anyway once in a while just for a change.

Love it. That's my kinda place. Send me an invitation when you get it going. Surf n' Turf all the way in a relaxing setting. Can't beat that in my book.

They WERE really swanky places we went to. I’m not sure who planned the trip but it was truly the most exciting trip ever.

Dinner at the CN Tower was a complete thrill but I’m no longer that person. I’d much rather be home making meals with my husband. We make it as formal or as informal as we want.

I really don’t like being around others, especially now. Having a nice meal at home and an afternoon nap is a perfect day.

We used to call that Mongolian BBQ. I loved that stuff.

making it Money Cafe...not the vibe I was going for 😊

I would hang great art all over the walls and serve breakfast and lunch
outside in a back courtyard with a Lily Pond and
in the front a small sidewalk cafe.
 
... an Italian restaurant like Rao's in New York City ... not the one in Las Vegas.

Opened in 1896 with only four tables and six booths. The best restaurant you never ate at.

Known by its regulars as the Joint. No reservations, just table assignments, which were designated decades ago.
When any of the 85 original table “owners” die, their families will often inherit the table.

Diners arrive when they like, and the table is theirs for the duration.
If they can’t come, they either give it to family or friends, sell it as a donation for a favorite charity, or rarely, turn it back to the house.
Which means that if you want to get in you have to know someone who knows someone who knows someone else.

There is also a small bar and a jukebox ...
Through the years you could find Keith Richards, Billy Joel, Celine Dion, and Rod Stewart singing along with the jukebox until all hours.
Many other famous people in entertainment, sports and politics have dined there on occasion and as luck would have it.

Unless requested, there are no menus at Rao’s.
Staples such as seafood salad, lemon chicken, and super-size meatballs are served family-style.

BACK STORY: For a short time years ago, I was friends with an Italian lady who lived on Staten Island and worked at a law firm in Manhattan.
Rao's was at the top of her bucket list and had been for a long time ... it never happened. Not for me and her anyway. You can't get in there.

In a corner of the room classical music from a grand piano can be heard and there’s a small marble dance floor. Outside there’s patio dining.

The restaurant serves Greek and Mediterranean foods served on fancy white Royal Doulton China with shiny silver cutlery.

The best wines are served as well as a daily house special cocktail drink however any type of drink can be served by request.

At night there are tiny lights shining brightly on the bushes growing underneath the windows. There are also candles on every table.
It’s a very romantic and elegant setting.

I love restaurants with views! I could sit there all day. The food sounds interesting too! I remember visiting a rotating restaurant located in KY, just over the bridge from Cincinnati. It had these large windows, and a harp was playing. I remember sitting there, watching the view and enjoying the meal and the atmosphere. I had gone there as a newlywed. Will never forget it.

I once went to a Mexican restaurant near Denver. It was massive. They had a stream running through the restaurant, and cliff divers into a pool, a shootout scene at the top of the cliffs where the villain falls into the pool below. The dining part of the cafe was dimly lit with a high ceiling and lights that looked like stars overhead. They had a Mariachi group that went from table to table, and terrific Mexican cuisine. Quite a dining extravaganza.
 
We have tons of Mexican and American Comfort Food restaurants here in Dallas. I would love a good Greek restaurant. It would have lots of booths with comfortable seating, attentive serving staff and soft music. We have been to Greece many times over the years and love the cuisine. Cava is the only restaurant that is currently serving something similar but it is like a fast-food takeout place.

Many of the restaurants we frequent have music so loud that we decide where to sit based on the location of the speakers. Then again, they aren't fancy but the food is delicious.

It would also offer an extensive selection of fine wines, craft cocktails, and artisanal non-alcoholic beverages. Live music or soothing background tunes might enhance the ambiance without being too intrusive. Overall, the emphasis would be on providing a memorable dining experience that nourishes both body and soul.
