If you got a tattoo, what would it be?

I believe times have changed, they seem now to be a fashion statement. Toward the end of my career I worked with a few folks that had tattoos, they were not stupid people, in fact several were highly intelligent. I think the tide has changed in what a tattoo says about a person, in most cases. Face tattoos excluded, I still consider face tattoos to be "Job Stoppers."
I agree with you, times have changed and I respect all seniors who are aware of this and remain open-minded. Some seniors who consider themselves wise are not at all, they are close minded and living in the past where they can disrespect women and consider them less of a person than they are. Keep them home, barefoot and pregnant and make sure they serve the men without question, or they will pay the consequences. The good ol' days were really not good for any minorities, including women. Judging the intellect of someone with a tattoo, or the morality of a woman with a tattoo, is very small minded and bigoted.

From the perspective of the Police agencies, tattoos are a wonderful way to positively identify a dead body, or a wanted criminal. Today Police who arrest a person not only fingerprint and photograph the person's face, they also photograph and list all of their tattoos on their body for future identification use. Facial tats are rarely seen outside of the tweeker meth life style world or the far right political groups. JIM.
Yes, I agree about face tats, I think that might be a separate issue.

I totally agree with you.

None. No tattoos. Especially not numbers. Remember being in Washington Square Park in '60's with my friend who was a child in Auschwitz. Guy came over to her (she really exotic looking) and asked her nicely: "Is that your phone number? Can I write it down?" It was her Auschwitz tattoo. Hate tattoos.
Oh my God...... I don't know who to cringe the most for, the guy or your friend the holocaust survivor.
I once asked a young man why have your arm covered/plastered with tattoos when no one can tell what they represent & he said that they represented things that meant something to him. Unfortunately to the observer his arm just only looked like it had been partially painted.

I would have a ying/yang tattoo of two eyes- one enlightened - the other evil or dead on the palm of my hand.

Several reasons for this. I was blinded by a firework accident 48 years ago (One eye sees, the other is blind.) It also represents the two sides of my spiritual nature, also to illustrate I don't have as many answers as I think I do and have much to learn and lastly the power between love and hate.
Am sorry you were blinded by fireworks. Life can change in seconds.
