If You Had Everything You Needed to Start Your Own Business, What Would You Call It?

Gaer, I've seen some of your work before and it looks like now you have been busy adding to the collection. You are so talented, open your gallery more often so people can enjoy one of your pieces in their home.
Oh Lee! Wish I were not so LAZY! hahaha! but, Thank you!

I would like to own a small restaurant and I would call it, The Grease Pit.
I wouldn't have a big menu, just some old time family favorites. Pot roast with plenty of gravy, Homemade chicken soup, Meatloaf and mashed potatoes loaded with sour cream and butter. Eggs and bacon with fried potatoes. Fried pork chops.
I would have the customers sign a forum saying I'm not responsible for high cholesterol readings and heart attacks but I will guarantee you will die a happy person after eating my food.

I once designed a new letterhead for a friend in Scotland,
it was an acronym from: Approved, Renault, Saab, Engineers.

He didn't want to use it as it was rude, but he did give it a try,
he had to explain what the letters meant, he got so busy, that
he had to move to larger premises.

Mike.

Some may not "get it"...but I watch British TV shows...so, cute!

Pam's clutter, your treasure.
My sister would be your most frequent customer. She's furnished her entire home with stuff she's bought at thrift store and antique shops. But somehow she manages to find really nice stuff. Her house is really pretty. Her latest find was a 3-drawer chest and matching end tables made entirely out of mirrors. But they're not in her bedroom, they're in her livingroom with her "art glass" collections on them.

A not-quite restaurant because it would only be drive-thru to pick up orders, called The Filling Station and located in an old...well...filling station! Only open Monday through Friday from 3pm until 7pm and geared toward customers picking up supper on their way home from work (or in these WFH days, to dash out and pick up supper).

There'd be a featured complete dinner each day and customers could order according to how many people would be at table at suppertime. They'd order online and could choose from either "What's for Supper" or "Souper Supper". Souper Supper would be a soup of the day or chili. I'd publish the following week's menu online on Saturday and accept orders up until about 10 am the day of.

The meals would be ordinary dinners that people really do make at home...pot roast, meatloaf, spaghetti & meatballs, enchiladas, fried chicken, Salisbury steak, stuffed peppers, pork chops, etc...and would include appropriate veggies.

Soups? Steak soup and crusty French bread, veggie soup and onion bread, chili and cornbread, broccoli/cheese soup and garlic bread, Mexican potato soup with warm flour tortillas...

I DO have a business. It's called "Whiskey Jack's Gallery, because it's a combination of my artwork and antique Western gear.
(old high back saddles from the 20's, Collectible Western books, antiques, artifacts, etc.) but I don't like selling things so I
hardly ever open the gallery!
That's wonderful! Is there a website page? I would love to see your artwork!

that sounds like a fantastic idea!

No hold's barred, just for fun, what business would you like to start.
I've been involved in startups
I wouldn't start a business for love nor money

I did enjoy the idea session think tanks of investors, engineers, and marketing guys

They'd call on me for company/product names/slogans

Created one for a finger print release gun safe

Called it The GRIP
G
un Retrieval In Place

The slogan;
Be safe
Be ready
Get a GRIP

The fun part was seeing their expressions
They'd been laboring over the name and slogan for days
Took me a few minutes

The safe tanked
Didn't meet the market window

But, yeah, thinking of names/acronyms is fun

Starting a business?.....not so much

finger print gun safe? that sounds like a great...and important idea...

It was......years ago

What killed ours was not getting it thru to market in time
By the time the regulatory folks got done with us, there was one already on the market
.......and half the size
business is a very very tough go.

@Gaer I checked out your link and was blown away...all impressive paintings and so was the sheer volume. And your gallery too...but if you want you can open it as a gallery only and not for sale (or does that have to be called a museum...well then so be it)
I know exactly what it feels like to sell a painting and know you'll never see it again. I did that online a few times and miss them.

Oh, and no, you didn't hijack my thread. The thread is about owning our own business and naming it and that's what you discussed. Even if it was off topic I wouldn't care. I'm not a moderator. No worries.
