I just yesterday returned from a glorious week's stay in Zihuatanejo Mexico, so I'm going to say....Mexico!If you had to relocate to another country, where would you go?
I've been to a few western provinces and to Victoria Island, and people weren't so friendly. Not to me, anyway. Not after I said I was American. This was in the late 70s, so maybe the lack of friendly had to do with Vietnam, idk. Or maybe they thought I'd steal all their women. Just kidding. I think even the women don't like Americans....or didn't, at that time.To stay in another country for a long period of time? I'd choose Germany or perhaps Denmark.
I enjoy visiting England, but all of the upheaval, Brexit, strikes all over constantly, cost of electric, there isn't much to like right now.
Canada might be another option for me. The people there are very friendly.
Hmmm, sounds like politics back then @MurrmurrI've been to a few western provinces and to Victoria Island, and people weren't so friendly. Not to me, anyway. Not after I said I was American. I have no idea why I got the cold shoulder in Canada. I was polite and minded my table manners, didn't carry a weapon, so....
Yeah, it was very unexpected. And French-speaking Canadians were the most unfriendly toward me. It really puzzled me.Hmmm, sounds like politics back then @Murrmurr
Come on over, anytime .. we're friendly!
Until the early 2000's French speaking people, primarily in the Province of Quebec, were often openly hostile toward English speaking people - particularly English speaking Canadians even more so than Americans. That has now changed since they figured out the volume of tourist $$ they were turning away with that attitude.Yeah, it was very unexpected. And French-speaking Canadians were the most unfriendly toward me. It really puzzled me.
But we're all good now, eh?![]()
