If you had to spend £200 on yourself, what would you buy?

I was asked this question at the weekend by a friend who has received a gift of £200 in a Will with the instruction to treat herself to something. We went through quite a few suggestions; a ring, maybe a necklace or a watch or, perhaps a nice day out somewhere, lottery tickets, something for her home. Eventually, she liked the idea of a make-over for her balcony and will be buying a fancy bird feeder, plants, pots etc. I think it's a lovely way to remember someone.

So, imagine if you were gifted £200 and told to buy yourself something, what would you choose? Would it be something practical but useful or something frivolous which you would never have bought otherwise or would it be a night out, a nice meal perhaps or would you put the money away until you actually needed something? Maybe none of these things appeal to you so, what would it be? :)

Id look at what I did with that friend , like Theatre , Garden Centre or Coach trips , and choose from one of them , Although I keep to my own company now ,not been out with anyone but family for years ,so I think I would put it towards a short break away .

i would prefer to spend it on my grandkids and friends ...but i guess if it was for me ,
I would buy hubby a new sun lounger , with treble sun lounger cushions , so he would be comfy
in the garden for him in the summer , but , as the money is for me, i would share it with him LOL , when hes not using it

Maybe a new winter coat. The one I wear is 30 years old! It's still in pretty good shape, so I just keep wearing it, year after year. Same with my spring jacket. They're both from Eddie Bauer.

Or maybe a computer monitor to use with my laptop out in the enclosed patio. I have trouble reading the small laptop monitor.

Or maybe a new pair of non-insulated slippers. My current warm weather slippers are getting a bit raggedy, but we're still in winter mode here in Colorado, so I haven't been wearing them except to workout, which is probably why they're getting raggedy. They were cheap.

That's all, I guess.

Some years ago I bought these Ray Ban sunglasses for Euro 250 during a bout of madness . Have never worn them🤣.

OK, so it would be about $245 in the US. I might give 10% to the local food pantry or animal shelter, and then use the rest to get a cleaning service for a good annual deep clean for my condo.
that's a very good idea... not something I would have thought of... but if it was me with a Buckshee couple of hundred quid... I might use it to get a one off gardener to cut down my hedges to a manageable height for me. They've got so high now iit's very hard for me to cut them...

I don't think I'd have much trouble spending it in a garden centre or going to the theatre, but a pair of Loake brogues or even trainers would be nice. (£200 would cover trainers, but the brogues are nearer £300)
I bought 2 pair of Chukka Boots from there for someone , they couldnt make their mind up whether to have Brown or Black,so i got both .with a good discount to ..
They also sell good Leather Luggage too.
