Ohhhhhhh what a mess ! Seems like every spare drawer eventually becomes a "junk drawer" in my house. I dragged the garbage around the house with me , sat by every drawer and just went crazy. Some of the things I found were coupons that expired years ago , tons of pens that didn't write any more, bags of rubber bands , keys that I didn't have locks for - locks that I didn't have keys for ....LOL... you get the idea. If you have junk drawers ,what would you find in them ?:)

Slips of paper with parts of poems on them. Coupons for cat treats. Lamp parts, brass chain for said lamps or hanging baskets.
Extra twist ties, rubber bands.

I save everything too. I figure someday that stuff might come in handy--well maybe not the old dried out rubber bands etc.--and every once in a while something does find a new use, and I celebrate. But truth be told, I probably wouldn't miss 99% of it if it were gone.

I save all sorts of things also but everything I have has a place and I usually can put my finger on what I need. Sometimes a little ocd comes in handy. On the other hand I sometimes drive myself crazy keeping it in order. I'm not quite sure who is better off. A person like me, spending hours organizing and then reorganizing.Or the folks with the junk drawers overflowing, sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee enjoying life as it is.

I have a small desk full of old eyeglasses, nice cigarette lighters that haven't been used in 30 years, spools of rotten sewing thread in case I need to sew on a button, foreign coins dating back to WWI, rotten rubber bands, an assortment of old staplers, rulers, nail clippers, scissors, etc...

I really should empty the desk, dust it and get rid of it!!!

The usefulness of the cup, is its emptiness. –Bruce Lee
