I'm done with companies that focus on sales rather than service

I did finally hear back from Pella Windows. Even though I provided a complete description of the window from THEIR installation contract, they told me to go to their website and locate my local Pella distributor so they could come out to the house and replace the screen. I can't even order it online. I'm taking the screen to Lowe's to see if they can order a replacement for me. :(

The problem is that a smooth talking salesperson can convince you that they’ll give great service afterwards. Other than actually knowing someone who has dealt with that company, you‘ll have to take your chances.

I don’t even believe the online rating systems like Google. A bot could load it up with rave reviews or a dolt with a chip on their shoulder can do negative reporting. Had to laugh about one person slamming a business. She had about 150 replies telling her that she was the a**hole. Not one person supported her. That’s rare.

Yes, it's like when you ask customer service questions and they give you half answers and go right back to the sales pitch. I usually just bail.

When I bought my last car, I received a questionnaire from Honda. I thought it would ask about my likes and dislikes about the car. Instead it was how the showroom looked, was the sales agent pleasant, and more about my sales experience. They didn't give a hoot about my satisfaction with the vehicle.
lol...how long ago was this ?... over 20 years ago ?

Just shows it's not a new phenomenon then doesn't it....

As you found out Pella has regional distributors throughout the US/CA so it's very confusing to many retail customers when they try to interface w the company on the net.

I once tried to cancel a subscription by just letting my credit card expire on them and not giving them the new one. I found out that credit card companies will gladly give any businesses that ask the new card information so they can keep billing, without asking me.

Thanks for that bit of information which I did not know, but may need someday.

I don't believe that is normal. But I would like to know what credit card it is.

Visa

This Visa Service May Help Prevent Your Next Chargeback

Visa Account Updater is a service from Visa that streamlines the process of updating cardholder details for recurring payments.

Whenever a Visa cardholder receives a new card due to expiration, loss, or account changes, VAU automatically updates the stored card information with merchants. This eliminates the need for customers to manually provide updated card details, reducing the risk of missed payments and service interruptions.

VAU ensures that merchants always have the most current card information.
