I'm ready for the New Year

It's New Years Eve in Australia.

Many people are preparing to go out to watch the organised fireworks.

I've done my own thing.

I've washed my dog, trimmed her toenails and I've vacuumed the house so it looks good on New Year's day.

Anything I've missed?

I do not watch fireworks, but live in such a spot that I can listen to two or three different display. So I listen to them, and picture them in my head, sitting in my comfy chair with my fuzzy slippers on.

We do not do anything special on New Years anymore. Hopefully the neighbors will not do any fire works, our little fur babies do not like it! Happy New Year to you!

Happy New Year Granny Jo from the Big Island of Hawaii. Other than a glass or three of wine, I have no plans for our New Years Eve. I will watch a couple of football games during the day, though. I suppose I could give my buddy Hoot (8# toy poodle) a bath, but none of the vacuuming stuff for me.

It's now a quarter past seven (evening) in Sydney and in a couple of hours we will have the first fireworks display over the harbour. It will be televised and is early for the families with younger children. The second display will occur at midnight.

The harbour will be crammed with people, many of whom have been in place since early this morning. Security will be tight with public buses lined up to act as bollards against attacks using cars or trucks. Still, I will be relieved when it is all over and people return to their homes safely.

Getting ready for the New Year, cleaning of course and the dogs too LOL but paying any bills before the day too is traditional for me, changing batteries, filling the gas tank. I do a walk through at about 10 pm and make sure everything is in it's right place..really I do , then all is ready for the next year, clean and organized.
