I'm with consumer cellular now, just a plain phone...would like to get smart phone...what's your experience?
I think that it would depend on what you are wanting and expecting from having a smartphone. If you are going to use it for browsing on the internet, then one of the phones with a larger screen would be a good idea. If you want to be able to take a lot of good quality pictures, then one with a great camera would be important.
You don’t say exactly WHY you want a smartphone, and I think that the reason you want it would make a lot of diffference as to which one would work best for you.
Not all of the iPhones cost $1,000, and I think that the only one that does cost even close to that would be the newest iPhone X, and with the largest memory storage.
If you get an older model, often you can get a very good deal, and the company you get your cell service would be the best place to check for that.
Sometimes, they will even give you the phone when you sign up for cell service. My friend, Ina, was able to upgrade her iPhone for free, plus they gave her an inexpensive tablet , all as an incentive for her cell plan.
I have an iPhone 7 Plus, and I totally love my phone !
I like the larger size because it is easier for me to see the screen and the little keyboard is larger for when I need to send a text.
I enjoy taking pictures, and one of the features that this phone has is called “Live Photo “, which means that along with the picture, it also takes a few seconds of video, which you can play back by touching the picture and holding your finger on it.
So, if you take a picture of someone waving and smiling at you, you can actually see them waving, and hear them saying hello to you anytime you hold your finger on the picture.
Probably my favorite feature is one that you might or might not care about. I have an Apple Watch that my daughter gave me, and it works along with the phone. It is a fitness tracker and I can wear it to track all of my steps each day, and even when I am swimming at the fitness center.
If I get a phone call, and my phone is in my purse, then I can answer it right from my watch.
This is especially great if I am driving and get a phone call. If I want to answer the call, it is on speakerphone, so I can still keep both hands on the wheel, and talk on the phone. I never miss an important call because my phone is tucked into the bottom of my purse and i didn’t hear it ring.
So, the phone and the watch work together perfectly for me.
