I'm turning into my father-in-law

I was thinking a lot about my Father-in-law today. He passed away 26yrs ago today. My Husband and I were talking about him while we were driving to my daughters house, and we remembered one time when we were driving him and my Mother-in-law to a friends viewing. As we were driving there my Father-in-law said "Oh there's Baldi's place. My Mother-in-law said to him "Bob I don't care how well you know somebody it isn't nice to call him a Baldi." My husband and I laughed and told my Mother-in-law that Baldi was the name of the funeral Parlor. After we laughed over that today, as we continued to drive I started mentioning the names of the places we were passing and that's when my Husband said I was starting to be like my Father-in-law because whenever we drove him anywhere he called out the names of everything we were passing. OMG ! I am turning into my
Father-in-law !

I think it's very common to act like some of our Late people we loved and cherish, and think that is why we do, because of love and respect of an individual. I've been turning like my Mom in so many ways, like for an example, if we go out for a meal, I always make a point to ask for our servers name, and thank them personally by saying thank you whatever their name was...

When I drive somebody in London, it is usually
a visitor and they expect to be told things that
might be interesting, also sometimes I drive a
friend who is also living here, but I might take
a route that he/she has never been on before
and they always ask what that building or that
park is, so the only time I don narrate a trip is
when I am on my own.

My Dad had a few favorite things he'd like to say as we drove around. Whenever we'd pass a cemetery, he'd merrily announce "Oh look! Y'know, people won't live there!" or alternately "people are dying to go there!" When I was very young I didn't understand. As I got a little older, I thought they were funny. By the time I was a teenager (before I started to drive myself everywhere) I just groaned and rolled my eyes.

When MY kids were little, I found myself parroting the same things, because a couple of places I routinely took them happened to take us past a local cemetery. I found myself laughing at their reactions, so similar to my own when I was little. ;)
