A Bournemouth man took his waterbed back to the shop because he and his wife had drifted apart
never never to be surpassed! - my son and I constantly speak to each other as an intro with the soliloquy of Four Candles/Fork Handles??
I think they even surpassed and I say this with a shudder - "Morecombe and Wise" - british humour imo has deteriorated since those days into mindless drivel
Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise. Back in simpler times.I think they even surpassed and I say this with a shudder - "Morecombe and Wise" - british humour imo has deteriorated since those days into mindless drivel
could you ever imagine the four of them together - got any of them MC?Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise. Back in simpler times.

Ronnie Barker, as in the video above, wrote a lot of his own material. He would pretend to be a member of the public writing in ideas and sketches for the show -- sending them to the producers under a false name. No one until much later realsied it was Ronnie Barker.I was never sure if they wrote their own scripts or had very good hidden away writers?
We had some great comics.
So many from Lancashire
Amongst so many other Lancastriansā¦
Victoria Wood, Mike Harding, Hilda Baker, Cannon & Ball, George Formby, Eric Morecambe, Norman Evans, Johnny Vegas, Ken Platt, Eric Sykes, Peter Kaye, John Inman, Phil Cool, so many more.
and two of my very favouritesā¦Les Dawson & Ken Dodd.![]()
I love that kind of comedy.Les Dawson & Roy Barraclough, as Cissie and Ada. Video quality is not too good, but here they both are at the doctor's waiting room discussing "woman troubles", as well as "hysterical rectomy"; a toilet incident, menopause:
You will have to watch it directly on the YouTube website.
and don't forget the immortal Peter Cooke and Dudley Moore -
Remember Derek and Clive?indicative of a declining world order!!! - when the humor gets too smutty and uncouth then it's time to turn out the light and leave
this was the funniest OF&H ever IMO...I have never laughed so much at any episode...And letās not forget Only Fools & Horses, particularly the chandelier episode & the inflatable dolls
well Ronnie barker wrote most of their work under the pseudonym Gerald Wiley...I was never sure if they wrote their own scripts or had very good hidden away writers?
Mindless drivel ?... can you tell us some hillarious Australian ComediansI think they even surpassed and I say this with a shudder - "Morecombe and Wise" - british humour imo has deteriorated since those days into mindless drivel
