Imp's Ability to "Cope"

Imp is very hard-headed; he knows that. As the time draws near where his continuing to drive a motor-car will be curtailed by law, failure of renewal of the driving privilege (it is not a RIGHT, you know), he is wondering how to cope with that scene.

After all, having had driving privileges suspended for a year, at age 21, the State of Illinois Motor Vehicle Division which was to renew that privilege, a year having gone by, his privilege was NOT renewed, due to the bureaucracy LOSING his file! They issued a 90-day Temporary License while trying to figure out how to resolve the situation. See, he had had an accident after lapse of insurance coverage, so State had serious legal considerations at stake.

As the Temporary was expiring, this young man and his new bride left on their honeymoon trip, Chicago to L.A., and back, he having NO Driver's License, and she having never driven a car yet (she was 17, and newly arrived from Europe). The trip went uneventfully, no intervention by Law Enforcement, even though the car in use was his 1965 Ford Mustang, ordered brand-new with the High Performance Package, 289 cu. in. engine, 271 H.P., 4-speed transmission. The car was FAST, and he drove it thusly.

The "imp" persona must have already been present that early, or blind luck intervened on their behalf, after the terrible luck exhibited by the MVD fiasco.

Has anyone else experienced dire consequences which arose through the fault of only others? imp

I must be a bit thick Imp, but your entire post is as clear as mud.

Imp I once idn't get my driver's license renewed on time and when I did go too much time had elapsed and the DMV made me start all over again like a little kid with the written test and the road test. It was unpleasant but I wanted to drive like any other adult. Hope you make the right decision on this one. Sometimes the DMV just rules.
