Laser beam from space, Khamenei son: Big bang theories on Raisi chopper crash

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was killed in a helicopter crash blamed on bad weather. However, it triggered conspiracy theories. If some saw the role of Israel's Mossad, others claimed it was a laser strike from space that killed Raisi, while still others blamed it on a battle of succession involving Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei's son.

As ruthless or evil he may be 'leaders' or heads of state like that keep other fanatics in line. It does create an opportunity for others good or bad. Let's hope the good wins out.

We've fallen off our high horses, Dave. We can't all be perfect. It's not Nelson Mandela who crashed, it's the person who imprisoned him who crashed. Not literally, of course.
I agree. Iran has been going through this kind of abuse for nearly 50 years now. I remember the revolution in 1978 and all that happened subsequently. Political correctness has its limits.

Unfortunately, the Shah was also far from an angel.
Yes, I used to think that until I met several Persian women in Oxford who told me of his progressive attitude toward women. That's a biggie.

In Italy I also had Persian friends who fled the Shah. They wanted an Iranian Revolution but would not have lasted under Ayatollah's rule, as they were artists & political.

I never forgot a lovely poster I saw 1980ish with the first Ayatollah pointing his finger and he was saying "Ayatollah not to F*&K with Me! I still laugh about it. I also have a button made by an artist friend for me which declares my original statement to her of "I ran from Iran"

Can anyone imagine people celebrating when one of the war mongering U.S. Presidents died?

Those people would likely be crucified. Why is that allowed in Iran, but not in free societies like the USA?
Interesting question. He was not the leader. He was like 3rd in line to be. He was on the committee that killed a lot of political prisoners and I think a large amount of the population are glad that the symbolic repressive regime that was "then" is over. They believe in the Io tola's leadership, at least for the time being. That could change tomorrow. It would be like us celebrating the death of a mass killer like let's say "Mason", or "Dahmer". we could never protest someone like ( too political can't say ). :)

Who in the US was ever tortured, killed, dismembered, or imprisoned for celebrating any political leader's death...or just their political demise, or just losing an election? We can party hardy over stuff like that, and the worst that'll happen is getting hassled by a neighbor or an in-law or whatever.
