Irish Proverbs: Youth & Old Age
Praise the ripe field not the green corn.

Young people don’t know what old age is, and old people forget what youth was.

The schoolhouse bell sounds bitter in youth and sweet in old age.

The older the fiddle the sweeter the tune.

As the old cock crows, the young cock learns.

The old dog for the hard road and leave the pup on the path.

My virus protection (Avast) blocked the page from opening.
I thought my virus protection was pretty up to date, and I'm still afraid of clicking on the "do you agree to cookies" button on almost any website, certainly I've avoided the best known one in the world for almost a year because of this.

There's a virus on that website! Don't click on it!!!
I keep clicking on it and my laptop seems to have survived the experience far, (the other website I mentioned earlier still wrries me though!):

More from the same:
"Never bolt your door with a boiled carrot."

"Questioning is the door of knowledge."

"The river is no wider from this side than the other."

"Seldom is the last of anything better than the first."

You'll like this one, (very prescient):

God is good, but don't dance in a currach — simply means don't tempt fate by pushing your luck or being an idiot!
(a currach is a small boat 🚤⛵)

Yeah, I don't click on the "cookies" button unless I know the site is legit. You can't be too careful.

The site I refer to as being most afraid of is ligit of course, as its one of the biggest, if not the biggest in the world, but my old computer seemed to get filled up with viruses if I used it, (I admit my old machine wasn't so well protected though).
