Is a 'Senior Moment" or Your Usual Dumbness?

I'm 71 and do a lot of dumb things. I have a lot of dumb in me. But now, when I do something dumb, I think it's a "Senior Moment". I began to think, maybe it's not a "Senior Moment", it's just my normal dumbness. Do you believe your "Senior Moments" may be just your normal absent mindedness?

No, I'm pretty sure that my senior moments go beyond my normal dumbness, they are more like dumbness on steroids. The good news is that I can't remember most of the dumb things I do or the senior moments.

Just let go fuzz, just let go and everything will be alright, LOL!!!

There's nothing unusual about our slowness in recall or our "forgetting where we put the keys".

It's not "dumbness" or "senior moments" at all...it's simply the aging process, and is so common it shouldn't require a seperate thread to discuss it!

71?? You ain't even old yet! How can it be a "senior moment". Those lapses are undoubtedly immaturity. When you do grow old... when you reach the ripe old age of 72 or so... then maybe it's a "senior moment"!! :>)

I do so many things day after day in exactly the same way that I forget if I did it or not. Just this morning I was fixing my coffee and forgot if I put the Sweet and Low in the cup. I asked my hubby and he said he saw me do it. I don't think it is a senior moment just the repetition that makes me forget.

Short term memory loss may be common at my age but it still irritates and frustrates me. And telling me that it happens to everyone doesn't make it any easier to accept. Yeah, I'm entering old age kicking and screaming, fighting it every inch of the way.

Such irritations are easily alleviated with the proper number of Scotch, Bourbon, Rum, Brandy, or Gin cocktails!

I have 2 Rum & Cokes every evening, and I find I can still remember a few things!

hdh

I forget things and do dumb things, but I don't see that as being particularly "age-related". Yet.

Yeah, I've noticed somewhat of an 'up-tick' in the f & d dept., but so far it doesn't affect my quality of life.
