Is anyone beginning to Prep?

My mom is born in '35. She was very thin and she (not the older siblings) could therefore get a glass of milk from the farmer.
Mine too.. 😍 my mother who was raised in an orphanage by evil nuns was evacuated age 6 in 1940 to a farm in the country, and the host family were allowed to supply her and some others with full fat milk.. unpasteurised... to build them up because they were so underweight...
My mother spoke of those times with affecton remembering big plates of porridge oats for beakfast...

  • Moisture Absorption: Concrete is porous and continues to release moisture for years, which can damage plastic containers and cause mold.
  • Temperature Changes: Concrete changes temperature easily, impacting the water inside.
  • Chemical Leaching: Storing plastic directly on concrete can cause chemical leaching, potentially allowing contaminants to seep into the water over long periods.
  • Prevention: Use pallets, wood, or shelves to separate containers from the concrete surface.

I read about that place a few years ago... they have their own garden down there!

I don't remember what all else, but he went to great lengths
I'm sure he did.. as would many of us if we had his money... but in the end it won't do him any good for very long....

People store canned foods galore.. but many forget about the important Can opener...

remember with no electricity, your frozen food will be no good after 48 hours...

Don't stock beer, unless you drink it warm. Keep several bottles of whisky on hand, even for you teetotalers. Distilled spirits are pure calories, the body runs on calories. Distilled spirits are 40% + alcohol, which you can use to disinfect objects, or use to sanitize open skin wounds. Distilled spirits are effective for limited pain relief, and can be used to improve mood in times of stress.
