Is daylight savings time better or worse for your health?

Of course this debatable but habits do change when the seasons change. I think this incourages spring like behavior in the society. Anyway here is one study that concludes :

( This just a tiny piece of the study...I will give the link to the whole study. )

Implications for consumers

Consumers can follow self-control strategies such as avoiding stocking up on unhealthy snacks before the time change to self-impose transaction costs on unhealthy consumption. Alternatively, fitness center members might plan activities close to the fitness center to reduce the transaction costs of a subsequent workout. Consumers vulnerable to self-control failures might also seek support from peers (e.g., in online social networks) and platforms incentivizing healthy behavior (e.g., through gamification) around the focal time period. Finally, novel technologies, such as smart circadian lighting systems, might help consumers reset their circadian clocks in a less disruptive fashion. Apps originally designed for travelers to reduce jet lag can also be used to minimize the effect of the time change.

Many people in my family who lived from the early 20th century lived long lives. Primarily because they walked everywhere so they exercised daily.

They also lived with DST as a regular routine every year so I would say that DST has no ill effects on most healthy people.

I think the controversy was stirred up along with many of the other inconsequential debates that run on the internet just to give people something to talk about. You might call it click bait.
Nobody questioned it with any serious intent prior to the internet.
Its purpose is to provide longer daylight hours in the summertime when people are on vacation and want to stay out longer. Who, in their right mind, has a problem with that idea?

I think daylight savings time was originally started to help the farmers out. They have to get up really early each morning. The daylight savings time helped them see what they were doing. I don’t think it had anything to do with people vacationing.
