Is it a Rosey Future ahead?

DO YOU BELIEVE THE INTERNET IS HIDING THE FACTS ABOUT THE PAST.
IS IT GIVING YOU HOPE FOR THE FUTURE WITH GASLIGHTS ?

Is that 3 questions?

I suspect we'll go through some dark days and then, depending on where you live, things will slowly improve.

I think the Internet has been co-opted to not only repaint history but conceal the reality of the present as it unfolds.

I hardly know where to begin with the 3rd question, though it does overlap the 2nd one. I think it attempts to give hope to some, and this creates terror among the designated losers.

The internet is not some great beast we have to keep caged up, it's an electronic means of communication, used by humans. We, humans, are the heroes and culprits of the internet. And, unless we wind up killing each other, we will see a more civilized, affluent society that has progressed from the time we figured out how to plant a seed in the ground.

The message you shared seems to be expressing some skepticism or concern about information and narratives presented on the internet, especially related to historical facts and visions of the future.

"DO YOU BELIEVE THE INTERNET IS HIDING THE FACTS ABOUT THE PAST?"

There is certainly misinformation, revisionism, and politically/ideologically-motivated altering of historical facts that occurs online from various sources. Not all information about the past on the internet is fully accurate or complete.

However, the internet has also made a vast trove of historical information, archives, and firsthand accounts more widely accessible than ever before. Used critically and with discernment, it provides unprecedented access to learning about the past.

"IS IT GIVING YOU HOPE FOR THE FUTURE WITH GASLIGHTS?"

The term "gaslight" refers to manipulation into questioning one's own reality, memory or perceptions. So this seems to be asking if rosy visions of the future portrayed online are intending to gaslight people into false hope.

There are certainly utopian visions and hype promoted online by various actors that could be seen as attempting to shape a distorted reality. However, the internet has also enabled more voices, fact-checking, and sharing of diverse perspectives on the future.

While misinformation and gaslighting do occur online, the internet has also democratized access to information in unprecedented ways if used judiciously. Critical thinking is key when consuming any information online.

So basically Ai agrees wid you, yes
Word of mouth ( finger typing or oral typing) travels faster.
Perplexing (questions) may become the work of day.

I don't really have an answer to your question in full but if people are censored from speaking online which is becoming more and more common dissent may disappear but will only be replaced with violence which I fear may have been the plan from the start.

Pessimists often disparage optimists and cheerful people. The accusation seems to be that they are ignorant or in denial about bad things in the world. That is simply not true for the vast majority of optimists.

The world is filled with suffering and bad things. But the world is also filled with joy and good things.

I don't think most pessimists deny that there are good things in the world. But sometimes it seems like they are very dismissive of them. For example, sometimes people will list many improvements in the world and many good things in the world. And the response will be, yes but [list of bad stuff happening].

If someone has the attitude all the good things in the world don't matter very much because bad things exist, nothing I say can change that.

If someone wants to change their attitude, I would recommend actively seeking out good things and news of good things happening. To spend more time searching out happy things and less time reading negative things.

I think much of it depends on a persons age.

I’m at the age where the future doesn’t appear all that rosey.

I think young people just starting out are filled with the same hope and optimism that we had when we were kids.

The future will be another 1000 years of the same old crap. Got that from the show Millennium. Charles Nelson Reilly had that line. I have to agree.
It’t their future to write. John Deere style power used. The point made is THEIRs.
