Is it worth to move abroad?

Prague for a 18 months, Gdansk Poland for 2 years, Split Croatia for a year, and Romania for 6 months. Looking at Italy, Spain and Greece. Maybe Albania.
Prague is really a beautiful city. My Dil is from Poland and I have been there twice. My favorite city is krakow. I was surprised at how green Poland was and really pretty.

I went most everywhere I wanted in my 20's - 30's - 40's - 50's & 60's.
Settled in the St. Louis Area. Weather is nice enough. Not to cold or Hot mostly.
Young people wearing Shorts all the time. Even Dark Hoodies walking down a shaded
street in July. At first, I thought that was sort of strange but got used to them.
Whatever floats your boat. Cool Beans. The Missouri, Mississippi and Illinois Rivers
have their own powerful personalities. The Diversification of people's lives is something
else even as the St. Louis City area decrepitates. People moving out to bureaus.
1000 sq. miles of homes all over. There are building projects where shopping centers
closed to construct homes that resemble the ones of the 20 / 30's (Row Homes)?
Maybe some things will never change? Some go to Mexico; I was in Tijuana. Never
Go back to Mexico. Only a few states I haven't been. Alaska, Washington, Delaware,
Maine and West Virginia. Don't feel a need. Watch pictures of them. Been to Canada
Hunting and vacationing. Didn't care for the French street signs. ha-ha. Horse flies
in Northern Wisconsin and tarantulas in Arizona. A Bee sting out west really hurts.
I too always miss the green of the Heartland. The kids cruise the Med once a year.
Visit countries in Europe on the Med. My brother was stationed in Brussels after
Vietnam. He and his wife toured most of Europe.

I have traveled to 67 countries over the last 6 decades. Right now I live here in Canada and intend to die here. It's not perfect but it beats high heat, humid, barking dogs, beggars running after you, over population, power failures and police "on the take."

Besides comparing what you'll leave behind and what you're looking for in a place of residence, I imagine that depends on what country/area you're considering moving to. Some places would definitely be more expensive than others, especially large cities. I've actually read a few articles about retires touting how inexpensive it is to live in Mexico. In fact, my honorary son and his fiancee (neither are retired) are seriously considering making that move in a couple of years for that reason. I've also read that Costa Rica is a good place for retirees to stretch their budgets.

I've always wanted to move to Guam. It's a less crowded version of Hawaii. While it's still the USA, one of the things I've wondered about in moving abroad is access to medical care. I don't think my Aetna Advantage card is honored in the south of France.

Medical care is a problem I think. I don't think I can use my health insurance in Canada. I'm certain I won't be able to use it in the UK. I don't know what the answer is to that if you're there for a good part of the year.

After my research, I only save a little $ to move abroad.
Your thoughts?

If the only reason is monetary, then maybe not.

Living abroad is all about the adventure, and the excitement. That feeling of being an outsider is addictive. IMO. YMMV.

I'd like to live abroad, but it depends where. For example, a lot of Brits go to Spain and live among other Brits. Like.... why? Not for me, I'm afraid. But to live in Spain away from tourists and other Brits, that might work.

There are a few places I wish I had gotten to see. More of Italy would have been great.

Yeah we are looking for that out of the way place as well. Tired of the big cities and bustling people everywhere. Looking for a place just small enough to be quiet and peaceful, but just big enough you don't go stir crazy!

we found a lake with 2 lots to buy, put a camper there and then built a home / garage and granny shed on it. Yea.
Foreign living is for those who choose.
