Is there any good reason not to have cataract removal

Cataract surgery is considered a very safe procedure. Complications are extremely rare. But they are possible. If you use the eyedrops like they tell you, there is little chance of infection.

I put it off for a time until my vision got too blurry to safely drive, especially at night. It went well. The next day my distance vision was 20/20 in that eye. But, after a few months it started getting blurry again. This can happen due to scarring and required a laser treatment to burn a tiny hole in the scar. It only took a few minutes and fixed the problem.

It is scary to think about someone cutting on your eyeball. But, lots of operations are scary. You have to consider the benefits vs. the risk.
I second this post. I've had both eyes done. I did need to have laser treatment to remove some film that had grown over the second one. It sounded more scary that the original ocular implant process but was as easy as pie. I have 20/20 vision long distance and wear multifocals for convenience to see more clearly close up. I am licensed to drive without wearing spectacles so I do not need prescription sun glasses.

A reason not to have your eyes is the risk of heart problems during the short procedure. Be sure to tell your surgeon about any heart/lung issues have at the time of diagnosis so you can be properly monitored.

I'm having one done this Mon, in two days. My first body replacement part since birth 77 yrs ago. Other eye is fine.
Hope things went well Don. I've had no other replacement parts either at the age of 70, lol.

Did anyone decided to "not" have cataracts removed after finding out you had cataracts? If so, why not?

Thanks!
In the Year 2019, which was the last time I saw an eye doctor I once again refused to consult with a surgeon.
If I remember correctly, I have a cataracts in each eye.
My eye glasses perscription appears to continue being okay.

I am not saying do not have the surgery.
In my case, I still stand by my decision.
I do not feel comfortable with the idea of my eye cut into, so a doctor can insert a piece of eye glass into my eye.
