Is this something only a Man would do!

About 6 days ago my husband decided to hang 2 pictures on the wall. He put the nail he was going to use in his mouth. Then he came into the room I was in and told me he had swallowed the nail. We immediately went to Urgent care and they did an x-ray and told him where it was at. Then the next day we went back and they x-rayed it again and it hadn't moved. They said that he should pass it soon. Well the next 3 days we returned and they did more x-rays. During this time I didn't get one minute of sleep. Finally, on the 5th day, he passed it. Now tell me do you think a woman would ever do anything like that, or is it a man thing?

I shouldn't laugh but I really don't know any women that would do something like that. LOL

You know in a way men remind me of children. They do some of the weirdest things sometimes. And manage to live through it.

...maybe not a nail, but my wife puts pins in her mouth all the time, not looking forward to that visit to the ER.

I'm a man (at least I was last time I checked) & I'd never put a nail in my mouth, even if I didn't get enough iron in my diet.
I have to ask....how did you verify that he passed it?

Yes, I hold nails in my mouth but I've never swallowed one. Seems like my oldest son always has some home project going on and I went over there once just as he was buckling on a tool belt. A styrofoam ball was hanging off the belt from a short string and I asked him What the hell is that? He'd hung it there to stick nails into. These belts have a pocket for nails, but you still want to hold the next one up in your mouth. He's never swallowed one either but the styrofoam ball broke that habit. He sticks in 5 or six at a time and replaces it when it gets too many holes in it.

I have to ask....how did youWell, I'll try not to be gross,but when he had a bowel movement he had to check everthing that came out. Thankfully they gave him gloves to go through what came out. He didn't enjoy the search. verify that he passed it?

Well, I have put nails, and screws, and small flashlights, and pens, and pencils, and small paint brushes in my mouth at different times. I never swallowed any of them, but I did mess up a good shirt with yellow acrylic paint when the brush fell out of my mouth.

I really could have used a third hand at times.

...and this is why I always use Command picture hanging strips instead of nails...I never swallowed a nail, but I broke my thumb trying to hammer one in...and I can hear all you men saying, "Only a woman would do that!"

Well it's true when you think about it Autumn. We're always using our mouths and they're always using their hands. It stands to reason we will attain the damage to the least used part.

Left to his own devices a man would not have gone near the Emergency Room for at least a week, unless he started passing or vomiting blood (and even then only if it lasted three days)!
