Yes, the problem is I can't get anyone out here to install them, and I can't lift them. So, box fans.

Fans only blow that hot air around, and don't cool anything.

A temporary fix for you maybe? ... there are many options on Amazon ..... nothing to install or lift.
And they will at least keep a bedroom cool at night, so that you can sleep in comfort.

What are your A/C symptoms?? Fan on outside unit not working?? Easy fix by replacing a capacitor. A/c people don't tell you this.

Being almost 40 years old, and no longer cooling at all. And yes, it was serviced last summer.

Weather weird in California right now. We are having a couple of cooler days, then it will ramp right back up.
