I was curious what tamales were @Linda so I like them up ,they look like they are a type of stuffed pasta is that correct ? I’ve never seen them in AustraliaCanned tamales. I like to eat them with eggs and pour the sauce over the eggs.

I'm the same. Local, first, at any cost, over all other options.That’s the very reason I buy / eat as much fresh food as we can
at least I know the veggies I buy are grown in Adelaide .
I bought sliced ham yesterday of 6 lots of ham they had only one was branded as Australian it was $5 kg dearer than imported but i still purchased the Aussie product .
We also get produce imported from Portugal and a few other countries. I avoid it all.most of the imported stuff is from china and mexico i believe.
Well that's a real drag. Imported produce is more prevalent here over the course of the winter season.well if we did that here we'd starve.

We have allot of imported foods most frozen fruits are from New Zealanddoes australia not get any imported food ever? not even the fresh foods?
most of the US foods are imported i think. not 100% sure so don't quote me on it.
We have lots of farmers markets in South Australia because SA grows allot of vegetables / fruits in the Hills or on the plains, or in temperature controlled hot houses where speciality tomatoes / soft leaf lettuce / lots of green leafy Asian greens / cucumbers are growni never leave the house to look for a farmers market. i don't even know if we have one here.
