It has to be the most over-used word in America!

My favorite...especially while listening to younger people talk...is the word "Like". Some of them inject this word into nearly every sentence...I think "Facebook" is influencing their thought processes.

I think the word "like" was used way back in the hippie/beatnik era. As in... Like WOW man...

That and "You know" are the most irritating to me.

"And she goes, "Like, I'm going to the movies." "I go, like, what are you going to see?'

Shirley "And she goes said:
I just got on here to say that and Shirley had beat me to it. I believe that might be the most irritating thing I over hear today and it's usually on TV.

Also I wonder if any of you saw The King of Queens where Doug's old girlfriend tries to be friends with Carrie but uses the word "literally" so much Carrie is about to strangle her. I think she used it in almost every sentence.

I am starting a rehab for all overuse of words addicts. It will be amazing and I know those who attend will find it an awesome experience. know what I'm sayin....?

Basically and like are the two that drive me nuts! If they're not starting their sentences with "basically" then they're starting them with "like" and throwing one or both of them into the rest of their sentences. I get so tired of hearing this so I just tune them out.
