Sounds like a perfect Sunday actually...Welcome, Michelle. Sunday? Sunday is about the same as any other day around here. The Spousal Equivalent usually watches football or Nascar and I putt around as usual.

We are due for a fairly clear and warm week ahead. Hope you enjoy the group.
Are you in or near the Cape Cod area?Good evening, Michelle. From a bit north and east of you, here on the south coast of Massachusetts.

Hello Patty, my fellow insomniac friend. I was on medication that did that to me too a few years ago. I had to stop taking it. So once in awhile I'll take a Benadryl or half a shot of Nyquil. It's so frustrating though, isn't it? Sleep should just come natural and not be a struggle, but here we are. Coffee is a great way to wake up but it's also a necessity in the morning. I go from my bed straight to the coffee maker when I wake up.Welcome Michellle,

I used to be a light sleeper until I was prescribed drugs and they usually knock me out. Last night I slept for 12 hours . It seems like such a waste of time. Now if I don’t have coffee, I’m dragging my butt around.
Are you retired?
Do you have grandchildren to spoil?
What are some of your favourite things to do?
I prefer the buses or motorcycles. When I have to do the traffic lights, I know I'm going to be there for awhile...Hello and welcome. If you're a cyclist you may have problems with CAPTCHA if it asks you to find traffic lights![]()

Sounds like you're happy with the simple things in life too.Good day and welcome!
Sunday morning for me is grocery shopping at 7A.M., I would go earlier but that's when they open. After that I clean the house, so that puts me at around 9A.M.
The rest of the day I make up as I go, life is good.

Do you go on social media like Twitter? I had to delete my account because I was afraid I would never fall asleep again.G'Day Michelle, nice to meet you. I too have trouble falling asleep. The trouble is, I have an overactive mind and too good a memory.

Buffy, left, and Max. Sunday was their 18th Birthday only they are no longer alive. Max died at 15.9 and Buffy had her 17th last year. She died last 6/9 and took a chunk of my heart with her. Miss them so much. Always together.
Adopted a new brother/sister team last September. Louie and Gidget. Eventually their presence might exceed my loss. I'm 74 and I assume they wil be my last cats. Gidget licking my neck right now and purring mightily!
We are very hot right now Michelle. High 80s and low 90s which brings severe rains and lightning. Our next door neighbors left for PA last week. Somewhere around the Erie area. Enjoy your good weather. How are today, Pappy in Florida? I haven't checked the Florida weather report, but I hope you have warm temps and sunny skies! I'm in Pennsylvania where it's rainy season. A little too much rain actually (almost 2 weeks straight). Today it was clear skies, so I sat outside and just basked in the sunshine. Ahhhh! Good for the soul!![]()
Sorry for the late response. Somehow I forgot.Hello Patty, my fellow insomniac friend. I was on medication that did that to me too a few years ago. I had to stop taking it. So once in awhile I'll take a Benadryl or half a shot of Nyquil. It's so frustrating though, isn't it? Sleep should just come natural and not be a struggle, but here we are. Part of the problem is I'm still dealing with Post Menopause anxiety attacks and night sweats. I swear some nights, it feels like torture. And my doctor said it can take up to 10 years after menopause for all the symptoms to go away. Okay enough complaining about that or I'll end up writing a 2-hour post about it and no one wants that.
I don't have grandchildren, so I decided to get a pet lol. Do you have grandchildren? I have an adult son but he doesn't seem interested in having kids anytime soon, even though I keep telling him to hurry up.
I'm "kind of" retired and this will require some explaining. I don't want to be retired yet, but I will be turning 56 in a few days. At my age, job searching is a very real challenge and that's putting it mildly. So what I've learned is that ageism (for both men & women) definitely exists. I have to look outside my state for a job. If I find one I have to move out of state. And I will end up making about 20% less.
So I'm reluctantly retired (I'm okay financially though) and apparently, too old to hire. So lately, I've been considering what young people call side gigs like InstaCart or DoorDash delivery. I'm not joking. I'm actually looking into it. No one cares about your age as long as they get their food delivered. And to be honest, it doesn't sound like a bad side gig.
Favorite things: I just posted some hobbies elsewhere. But, quick recap - calm, relaxing, slow-paced activities like collaging, meditation, journaling, road trips, day trips, farmers' markets, occasionally trying new recipes when the mood strikes, doing things around the house, libraries and old bookstores are my sacred sanctuaries, taking a walk around the park.
I don't have any friends or in a social group but I want to change that. I've isolated myself for too long and it's not healthy. But it's not easy making friends at my age as it was in high school. I don't even know where to begin! I guess being on here is a first step in that direction though.
Your turn! So what do you like to do? Are you retired? Grandchildren? Pets?
We're old. I wouldn't necessarily call us mature.But I'm finally here!
So yes, I'm new to the website. I've been looking for a mature forum for awhile and came across this one.
It's almost 4 AM and I figured this would be the best time to come on and introduce myself. Also, I have terrible insomnia. I will update my profile soon, but not at this ungodly hour...
So what does everyone do on a typical Sunday? I usually cook, do laundry, and watch a movie. After that, I think about all the things I should be doing in the upcoming week until I'm really stressed out and have to meditate to relax.
Anyway, good very early morning, everyone!
