It Took Several Months To Decide To Charge This Woman

Was there a reason given why it took so long, (compassion for the tragic loss of her two sons, regardless of her culpability)?

Yes, there was a reason. She is the wealthy wife of a well-known doctor (Peter Grossman) whose father started The Grossman Burn Center.
That's also the reason she will likely waltz with a light sentence like "Community Service" or "Home Monitoring with an ankle bracelet.
And, of course she'll write a check to the family of the two kids she killed. And maybe a donation to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving).

Apologies, I couldn't follow the link in the OP and assumed she'd killed her own children.

Evening of Hope 2017

Socialite Rebecca Grossman has been charged with murder and vehicular manslaughter for allegedly plowing her Mercedes-Benz into two young boys in Los Angeles, according to reports.

Grossman, 57, was arrested Sept. 29 after police said she struck and killed Mark Iskander, 11, and his 9-year-old brother, Jacob, as they crossed the street with their family in LA’s Westlake Village.

Grossman, the former publisher of Westlake Magazine and wife of prominent plastic surgeon Peter Grossman, has been hit with the felony charges, KTLA-TV said Wednesday.

She is charged with two counts each of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, the station said.

Grossman also faces one count of hit-and-run driving resulting in death.

Authorities said at the time of the incident that speeding and alcohol were both factors.

The boys were crossing a three-way intersection with six family members, including their parents, at the time of the fatal incident.

If Gascon has anything to do with this case, she may just get a slap on the wrist.

The second I read "socialite." Not that who anyone is changes their behavior and outcome. This is horrid. She had every means at her disposal to get herself home by an alternate way. But she did this. There were two family members killed in my town over 20 years ago by a drunk driver. I remember the sirens that night and they detoured traffic in the AM. The intersection was still closed.

I hope such doesn't change the outcome.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a swift and just sentence.

My heart and prayers are with the boys family. To have it hapen at all is bad enough...but to witness it happening? God, how awful that must have been. No amount of money will ever wipe the sound and images from their minds. Nor will her going to prison for the rest of her life (however I still pray that happens!)

IMO, anyone who is drunk, or high on drugs, and causes a wreck resulting in injuries, should be charged with Assault. If they kill someone, the charge should be Manslaughter or 2nd degree Murder. I have NO sympathy for anyone who drives impaired. In recent years, I've come to think the same about those playing with their cell phones while driving.
Tonight is New Years eve, and even out here in the boondocks, the roads will probably be filled with fools weaving all over the place. I wouldn't venture out of the house unless it was a dire emergency.

Laws are no where NEAR tough enough for offenders of cellphone use while behind the wheel.

If I had a say in it, drivers caught messing around with cellphones while behind the wheel would lose their licenses for life. The end.

If recall she left the scene as well. But apparently she implying she wasn't drunk so a sober person over a half century old doesn't know one should not leave an accident scene?

Another pos drunk driver showing their true worthless colors.

This actress also drove drunk & sped through a neighborhood, crashed into a car & fled the scene. A woman & her daughter were seriously injured.
Actress Halle Berry pleaded no contest Wednesday to charges of leaving the scene of a West Hollywood car accident and was sentenced to three years' probation, fined $13,500 and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.

And, of course, we know about Chappaquiddick...

Yup but a high profile expensive lawyer can do wonders for the perps. Sometimes first time offenders get a break.

She wound up paying with money she'll never miss

Does anybody really think this women is going to jail? At most, she may have to reschedule a manicure session. After the hype about the "accident" calms down, and after the 38th continuance of her trial, all will be quietly forgotten.

Just wondering: why is this very old piece of news suddenly a topic of conversation again? Fuzzy, did you not notice how old it is?

@Sunny
A new member had posted a diatribe about a psychiatrist, using his name & whereabouts, and I see it was deleted.
