It's not easy being royal

The line of succession goes through all of William's children before looking at Harry @Owlivia
That's what I believed, too, until I read the newspaper stories. I suppose they could  have made a mistake.

@hollydolly Something I read last week on one of the British papers said that if William did not become king, that Harry would be the next king.

So, if for whatever reason William will not or can not ascend to the throne, are we to understand that George will be skipped over?

I thought you might know the answer, as I think a Queen Consort Rachel (Meghan's given first name) would be a difficult thing to accept in the court of public opinion.

Any idea if this skipping over George could be a real scenario?
Owlivia.. Thanks for asking,.. No, Harry will not become King if William cannot. George will become King.. then if not him, then of course Charlotte then Louis.. but of course, there first William, before even George.... however if George grows up to have children, they will take precedence to the throne over Charlotte and Louis

I'm surprised it was reported in a British newspaper tho'...

The topic reminds me:

Years ago, I was so out of it from working all night that I couldn't make sense of something I was reading.. my first thought: 'That's an unusual name...' my second thought: 'Wait, did somebody name a dog after him?'

I was so tired that when I read the name KING CHARLES SPANIEL I'd thought it referred to some monarch from the distant past..
realized I needed sleep when it eventually occurred to me the article was about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Charles_Spaniel and not a long-ago member of the royal family... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
