"Cruel to be kind" is certainly the right way to go sometimes!Interesting, but life is more complicated than that. Just sayin'. I'll be kind in the moment, but I'm not an overtly kind person.

True, but if you're kind by nature, it doesn't matter since you treat all people the same way. It's easy to be kind to people who deserve kindness.
The difficulty is being kind to those who don't...….
https://www.spreadingkindnesscampaign.org/personal-kindness/mindful-kindness/Is there such thing as mindful kindness? Like love, kindness is an action word.
"If you are kind towards everyone to the same degree, does this mean no one is special to you?".True, but if you're kind by nature, it doesn't matter since you treat all people the same way.
Really?"If you are kind towards everyone to the same degree, does this mean no one is special to you?"..

I can only speak for myself and I'm far from perfect, but in my life, I've seen "special" people to me consider kindness as a sign of weakness. It reminds me of a line in the song Alfie..."if only fools are kind Alfie, then I guess it is wise to be cruel"."If you are kind towards everyone to the same degree, does this mean no one is special to you?"..
