Its Time To Buy Another Roll Of Stamps

I buy a roll of stamps from the post office every once in a while. I still mail payment for my bills each month.
The price of stamps went up again not too long ango. As a result they are about to get expensive. A roll of stamps cost $55.00 now days. Since I no longer have transportation and can't go to the post office to pick up
a roll of stamps, I called the post office and asked how we could remedy this situation. They suggfested I request an envelope for that purpose which they would sent me, to put my check in this envelope and mail it back to them, then they would mail me a roll of stamps. It works but it takes a little longer. But regardless, it is time to request another envelope. Does anybody out there still use postage or is that an out moded, old fashion event?

I still use stamps. Buying stamps using one of their envelopes is the best way to go. I tried buying them online last year and the hit me with a "convenience" fee which really irritated me. And the stamps didn't come any quicker anyway.

I pay most of my bills online using a service called "Billp@yer" offered by my bank. No stamps needed, and some of my accounts have noticed this and no longer include a payment envelop with the monthly invoice. Of course, as others have said, we still need stamps for other correspondence, but a roll of 100 stamps now seems to last forever. Which makes sense since I always get "Forever" stamps.

I keep stamps in case I have to mail something. I mail my rent. I keep them in case the internet bill pay doesn't cooperate so I can still pay my bills. I haven't bought a roll of stamps in years. I thought about it recently so I wouldn't have to keep going into the building for them.

Time for some lunch so I'm going to see if I can get a hamburger delivered. Cheers.
Just for you, Drifter-

We still use a few stamps per month. We buy a book of 20 "Forever" stamps every 2 or 3 months, at the local PO in town. Mostly, we just use them for the 3 or 4 bills we get each month, and things like birthday cards.

Ditto. And they don't cost $55.00.

I still pay bills the old fashioned way. When I need stamps, I use the envelope with a check and put it in my mailbox. Sometimes I have to wait a day to get them but it's convenient enough and I've never run out.

I was in Costco last December, and decided to get postage stamps. Christmas carols were playing, lights were twinkling, and when the clerk asked if I wanted Christmas stamps, I said yes. Spirit of the season and all that. 100 jolly Santa stamps.

As a result, it appears that I'm going to be mailing Valentines, Easter cards, birthday, anniversary and new baby cards, even sympathy cards, adorned with smiling Santa stamps...probably for the rest of my life.

My sweet wife writes two or three (or more) ink and paper letters each day. Some go to family, some to friends both near and far, and some go to elderly acquaintances who are alone or live in care facilities. A letter is a special gift you make for someone you care about.

We buy a lot of stamps.

That is wonderful. An art lost by most or not even ever adopted.

I only use a couple of stamps per year usually for greeting cards.

Try buying your stamps online directly from the USPS or from the rural delivery mailman if you live in the country. I don't think that urban postmen are allowed to sell stamps but as far as I know the rural route drivers still have them.

Good luck!
Trying to buy stamps online today in NJ is like being vetted by the Secret Service. What a chore.
