I've Been Tired For a While Now

Anybody else feel the same way?

I'm just wondering if the Covid injections are the culprit. I don't have the same energy I used to have even a few short years ago. I'm getting some bloodwork done in a few days to see if I can get to the bottom of this.

Did you have the latest shingles Jab (s) we did ..well I had one …of the 2 required …I had a very bad reaction extreme tiredness / pains in my legs and I’ve still not fully recovered from the leg pain.

@Beezer I’ve recently had extensive blood tests done , see my GP on Monday in Adelaide , about results .
The lady who extracted the 6 vials of blood commented my blood thin and asked if I was on blood thinners
No I’m not

I had the first two shots & refuse to get any more. I feel the same that I haven't had the same energy since those. I know we are all getting older, but do seem to have more aches/pains that you think you should?

I hope you get some answers with the blood work.

Tiredness can be a symptom of many different illnesses or malfunctions going on in our bodies. Before I retired and had COVID shots, I was extremely tired all the time. I didn’t necessarily want to lie down and sleep, but just didn’t want to do anything that required exerting an effort.

I had bloodwork and biopsies of some of my glands (?). I even was tested for certain diseases and had a tox screening. Nothing came back as being abnormal. All of my numbers were within the acceptable range.

The doctor suggested I take at a week long vacation away from home, eat healthier foods, exclude all sweets like desserts and candies and just relax. So, my wife and I decided on a week at the Outer Banks in North Carolina and just rest, fish, maybe play a round or 2 of golf and even rented a boat for a day.

When I came home, I felt renewed. Whatever it was that was dragging me down was gone. I had energy and got back to doing my normal activities, took my wife out for dinner and dancing at a nearby club, looked forward to going to work and was able to sleep my normal hours again.

This may not be the answer for you, but daily stress, your daily routine, paying bills and having to deal with life issues can drag us all down from time to time. Taking a nice long timeout and just relaxing can turn us around 180 degrees, but not all the time.

Being a State Trooper can produce a lot of stress and stress can cause us to become tired and at times feel like throwing in the towel. I had a good friend that was a really good tool and die maker for Harley Davidson. He had the same symptoms, plus no appetite that I had about 2 years later. He did the same things as I did, but it didn’t help. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I felt terrible when he told me his diagnosis. I felt that I led him down the wrong path and had he seeked the advice of his doctor sooner, it may have made a difference. Waiting those 2 extra weeks may have delayed his treatments.

It’s good you didn’t wait. Some people try otc meds, vitamins, supplements, but nothing takes the place of a doctor’s expertise. Tiredness is generally a symptom that something is not working properly. The sooner it’s found out what’s causing it, the better off you may be.

Good luck.

You've made the right move to see a doctor. You could be experiencing low iron levels.

I'm not one for vaccines though I did get the pneumonia vaccine and finally gave in to getting the COVID vaccine. I was considering getting the one for shingles too, but yours and other comments about the side effects are giving me pause. I hope you will start to feel better.

@Beezer I hope you can get to the bottom of what's going on...and soon.

No more covid injections for me unless my job required it, which I don't think will happen. I really don't want any vaccines. I'm not getting the shingles one either.

I worry about not having energy as I age. I have things I hope to do when I don't work anymore. I have no idea how it will go. Will have to wait and see.

I'm late to this thread and was just reading it as you've posted the results. Well done young man.... I'm pleased everything is ok. That's a worry you can chuck in the bin! :giggle:

Ooh, the Outer Banks will do that for you. 👍 I'm sorry about your friend though. 😒

A lot of medications have tiredness as a side effect.
Agree @MaidMarian I’ve got the results of my extensive blood tests and it’s really good cholesterol 4 which is excellent no signs of diabetes or any blood disorders .

I spoke to my GP whom I’ve been seeing since 1987 about bouts of tiredness and he said its a side effect of the BP med i take , as well as DH and I have just recently come home from a 2 month driving holiday where it’s warmer than where we live in South Australia, we are quite active in keeping fit ( both of us ) by walking and dancing
( social ballroom)…… so no wonder I’m tired at times
