Jealous of your siblings

Have you ever been jealous of your siblings? If yes, why?

Nope .. not ever.

I find it hard to be jealous of my siblings or children. If they have something or do something I consider worthy of jealousy it is more of being proud of them.

I'd havw to yes at times.....reason was I was the "black sheep" in family, my two older
brothers were always "praised" for their jobs, or homes, etc..... I believe this was
one issue that figured into my distancing from the family...

Jealous? Nah... a little envy now and then for some of the skills they have that I'm lacking. Organization, for instance. But they envy me for some of my skills so it all evens out.

I understand that. My parents thrived on pitting my brother and me against one another. I was jealous when younger. I understand the dynamic now. It happens in a lot of dysfunctional homes.

Eh, I was the oldest and they got by with everything that I didn't get by with. Yeah, I was a bit jealous......

Well I was at first, mainly for my younger sister. She was trained with the Manhattan School of music in opera singing, I mean she has a voice, she has an incredible voice.

However she would never use it because she's afraid of crowds (Nevermind that she was in several school plays) I'm like there was talent, the ability the drive to be an incredible singer and she threw it all away.

I look at my sorry state of affairs, and realize that while I have never really tried to succeed in life, she did but yet she failed to live.

My sister and I are like night n day.....but no jealously.
Forgot about my straight laced brother...lol, again no jealously.

Yes, my older sister. She died a few years ago and we hadn't spoken in over 10 years, my doing. I just always felt bad around her. Not only the jealousy, but she was emotionally abusive to me and not a very nice person.

Nope. It does work the other way around, however. I wouldn't say my older sister is jealous, but she has insecurity issues about the fact she has less money than we do. Not anything I can do about it, however.

Not at all. I call her once a week to catch up. She lives in NY and I live in CA. The philosophical gap between us is even wider, but I love her.

Same here. Wish I did have a sibling (or siblings). My wife and I produced 4 kids born in 1957, 58, and 61, 62. 3 girls and a boy. They're all close, all married, and the girls share "get-togethers" as they all live near-by.

Have two brothers and no, never jealous and they are very, very well off financially and are happy with their spouses and/or family. However, I always wondered if I had had sisters if I would have been jealous if they didn't have to work or had a job that they loved ( I always worked and resented it as I did not have a job that I loved), or they had children as I didn't, or if they had a nice self-contained home to live in, I live in a condo. I know I'm weird, but I do tend to be more jealous of females over males about stuff.

Always wanted a brother or sister, but I got to be an Only Child, complete with all the "shaming" by friends and such, early on.

My parents were both only children too. So family dinners weren't very big.

Jealousy is not a good emotion, especially for older people.

Furtheermore, the 'entitled life' my parents gave my brother...did not 'far well' for him, eventually divorced..etc. etc. Not good money-handler
while I married well..etc.

Not really. They all have their problems too and older than I am. I just hope I don't outlive them.
