Jerry Lee Lewis Dead...

Apparently, in Mississipi in 1957, the age of consent for marriage for girls was 12, but was changed to 15 later in the year. So the marriage was legal based on her age, but there was another issue in that Jerry Lee was still married to his first wife. The girl, Gale Brown, was the daughter of Jay Brown, Jerry Lee Lewis' cousin. Lewis was 22 at the time.

In your opinion, the fact is, the marriage was perfectly legal and took place because the couple, from a deeply religious background, considered it wrong to sleep together outside of marriage

That dosn’t make it right in my eyes either but, they did nothing wrong and it still dosn’t give anybody the right to flaunt the dignity of a man on his deathbed

Would you have posted such an awful photo of the queen had one been available HD ?

Love all their music. I still play Jerry Lee and Mickey's music. Never cared much for Jimmy but I do have some of his cds. As for their personal life I just read a statement by his cousin that he married. She said their marriage at the time was the best 10 years of her life. I am not one to judge how many times they were married and neither should anyone else. There but for the grace of God go I.

I believe he died in DeSoto County, Mississippi . As per wikipedia.
 
I saw him live years back, and his cousin Mickey Gilley just a few years ago in Branson ...... Both of them could really play a piano ! I liked what they wrote & sang ...... but their piano playing for their genre of music .... was just over the top.
 
An old boyfriend of mine once pointed out that I didn’t have to marry every guy I slept with….so I stopped. I loved Jerry Lee’s music and wish him well in his next adventure.
