One of the most respected Jewish Rabbi made a prediction before he died several years ago, concerning the Messiah. He claimed that he had seen and talked with the Messiah in dreams and visions, and said that he would leave a note containing the name of the Messiah, which was to be kept sealed for a year after his death, and then opened.
He also stated that the Messiah would appear soon after the death of Ariel Sharon, which has just recently occurred.
The Rabbi was over 100 years old when he died, and was extremely well educated, and one of the most respected by the Jewish people. However, the name he presented as the Messiah, definitely was an extreme shock..... the name of the Messiah that he left on the note was Jesus !

Sounds like dementia.
Well you could be fooled by that notion OG but hey, he was a 'religious', high ranking, and only 100 years old so all his pronouncements have to be taken as legit right? "Ya gotta faith, ...thafaith...thafaith.. Yaaaa gotta have...." Especially if what he scribbled fits the fantasy of those who feel comfortable with the thought that they themselves are so weak and lame brained that they expect a sky daddy to come down and fix their busted toy of a planet for them.

Wonder how much credence he'd have gotten if he'd been an Imam?

Sorry, that damned Darth is still here.

Trivia ramble.

Prophesies intrigue me. Not of themselves, but watching how people contort their wording to support a supposed proof of their 'truth.'

We've all seen the many and varied versions of Nostradamus. Hell even he didn't know what he was talking about they are so convoluted and cryptic. But they are pure gold for spinners to 'translate.'

Then there are the coincidences that make life really interesting when that crap becomes a hobby.

The anagrams of names, the recurring number ones, you know how it goes. Saw one that proved the anti-christ was baaaack. Yep, proven, and some will love this one. Seems ole Nostra named him as Mabus. Guess why that's significant? Well, it's a no brainer! obaMA BUSh. The fact they appeared in the wrong order and there was two of 'em was an inconvenient annoyance but sounds great don't it?

Another that made me smile was Ariel Sharon. I have no opinion or interest either way about his career or character, just the name. It appears it must have occurred to the old Rabbi too.

Ariel was an archangel. Charon was the name of the ferryman carrying souls cross the Styx. His name equated to Angel of Death. Some apparently thought so. I just found it mildly amusing.

Now, to get back to this latest revelation, are we are waiting to see which Mexican gardener is the 'real' Jesus or what? How's that gonna work? Did the video say anything about identifying him? Will he make it through the airport security without a visa? or will he descend in a UFO at the Rose Bowl or what? Sorry but I couldn't watch the vid., haven't had brekky yet.

To add to the conspiracy theory, I suspect Sharon was already in a coma when the rabbi made his prophesy, so it was bound to happen soon, while his memory still lingered.
i love conspiracy theories, I just don't believe most of them!

Very confused, Davey. The Old Testament prophets (Hebrew scriptures) talked about a messiah who would save the people of Israel. He was expected to be a great leader like King David, and would restore power to the Israelites who at the time were a conquered people.

If Jesus is the messiah, he was a big disappointment for the Jews. Around the time of Jesus, quite a few people claimed messiah status but all were rejected. The Jews are still waiting.

Jesus was never a catholic. He was a Jew.

You don't believe in the possibility of a Messiah?? I do, and sure do wish he'd come back darn soon, because the way this world is going is not something I want to see....not saying I'd even be raptured if there is such a thing, but good grief, somethings gotta give!!!

Which particular Messiah could do the job for us though Anne?? The Jew's Messiah, or a 2nd go round for Mohammed? Or Buddha's umpteenth reincarnation or a Super DaliLamaman or the reappearance of the Rainbow Serpent to sort OZ out or what?

Remember any Messiah that doesn't fit with a person's particular religion is deemed to be ... a false prophet!

If he/she/it is returning to fix the World then the big M would have to be relevant to all religions, and to those with lack of any religion at all, to have any impact on changing anything more than a battery.

Many Christians, when plumping for the Messiah option, tend overlook the fact that theirs is now a minority religion.
There's a heap more Moslems than Christians and they wouldn't be all that happy to have Jesus telling them that the Koran has got it wrong.

Just wonderin' "Who can it beeee nowww??"

And what would a messiah do? Force the world's people to repent and start behaving well to each other?
If morality is not by free will, it is meaningless.

We don't need a new messiah. We've had preachers, teachers, prophets and saintly examples enough already.
Even Jesus said so in the parable about the rich man and the beggar at his gate.

Could be that all the major religions are wrong, and there's only one Messiah, tho....one God who created all mankind?? I remember when the Pentecostals were considered nutcases to some other religions. Now, they have Catholics meeting with them to discuss their beliefs.

Some of the older Catholics still are against the Baptist faith; which never made much sense to me. I realize, to agnostics or atheists, it's a lot ofl mumbo-jumbo - but, who can say none of it is real; where is the proof of that??

Proving the negative is a long term occupation. In courts of law it has to be proved that an offender did it, not that he didn't. Double standards? Just sayin'.

I don't mind that people believe in religion really. I just saddens me a little to know that they need to.
