JFK assassination records still not released

It's been almost 59 years since JFK was assassinated, and there are still records and documents from that event that have Not been made public. I cannot understand why some of this information is still "secret"....unless there were those in our own government who share responsibility.

My first thought after the assassination was that it was orchestrated by the Russians in response to the Cuban missile crisis. To release that information by congress to the public would possibly lead to war with Russia, so the information was buried as the lesser evil.

"President Joe Biden announced files associated with President John F Kennedy's assassination will be postponed with the most sensitive information set to be released in Dec. 2022."

"The US will “unfortunately” continue to delay the public release of records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and officials say the COVID-19 pandemic is to blame.
The move was announced in a memo signed by President Joe Biden and released by the White House Friday."

“Temporary continued postponement is necessary to protect against identifiable harm to the military defense, intelligence operations, law enforcement, or the conduct of foreign relations that is of such gravity that it outweighs the public interest in immediate disclosure,” Biden wrote.

In 1992, Congress ruled that “all Government records concerning the assassination of President John F. Kennedy . . . should be eventually disclosed to enable the public to become fully informed about the history surrounding the assassination,” the missive said.

I have heard that the complete files won’t be released until all the generations that were alive during that time period have passed on.

The more I learn about the assassination, the more I believe that there was another gunman other than just Oswald. It would have been impossible for Oswald to fire that many shots accurately in that short amount of time. Plus, there was one shot that came from the front of Kennedy. That has been proven by analysis of the video footage.

A lot of foreign leaders wanted Kennedy dead. Release of the investigation documents might have triggered WWIII, or that's what many people believed at the time.

And there is no way the rifle found in the book store fired any of those shots. An FBI agent test-fired it from a rest & it wouldn't keep all the shots on a paper plate (12 inches) at 50 yards; let alone a moving target much further away.

What a ClusterF...
I do admire JFK for his WII service, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Moon Landings.

Give it a rest. There are vastly more important happenings going on now that will effect us NOW.

60 years is OVER.

This doesn't say much for the concept of freedom of information and the concept of democracy. The government has "secrets" which the peasants shall not know.
We peasants don't know squat about whether there are any hidden facts regarding his shooting or not. Certain opportunistic entrepreneurs always jump on such bandwagons and make a fortune for years with their books, documentaries, etc.

The reason people wonder if the gov't has something to hide is because three other sitting presidents were assassinated and two were injured in attempted assassinations, and every official statement was made public, as well as every available detail about the injuries, the perpetrator, movements and locations of the body.

No details about any assassination of any gov't official has been kept secret except for JFK's assassination.

There was a lot of incompetence in the investigation, which may be one reason. The nationality of the second assassin is more likely. My guess is the powers that be were afraid it would trigger WWIII, and that could still be the case.

What are you thinking?

It seems to me that even if there was another assassin or more and it turned out the whole thing was planned and supported by the Soviets or Chinese I don't see that starting a war today... Too much time has past, Putin is too young to have been involved.

The federal government on Thursday released a fresh trove of documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, a turning point in American history and the subject of persistent conspiracy theories, despite the official government conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald, acting alone, shot him to death.

Historians and researchers said they were just beginning to comb through the 13,173 documents containing newly released information, hoping they might shed further light on one of the most closely scrutinized murders in recent history and on the government’s actions before and after it.

The documents included records relating to Oswald’s trip to Mexico City several weeks before Kennedy’s assassination in 1963; Oswald’s trip to Finland in 1959, the year he defected to the Soviet Union; and images of his Cuban visa application. Some of the documents — including one about Operation Mongoose, a covert government campaign to rid Cuba of Fidel Castro — included redactions.

Many of the documents had been released previously but now have fewer redactions or none at all, researchers said. Many were scrambling to find out what new information had been revealed.

Evidently there isn't much new in these documents other than they contain a treasure trove on how the CIA kept tabs on Oswald. As did the KGB.

I'm not a fan of most "conspiracy" theories, but I think there is a lot more to JFK's assassination than what we have been told. Those potentially involved are long gone, so if any were involved, only their reputation will suffer,
I'm not a conspiracy theorist about the JFK assassination but I do not believe a lone gunman was responsible.
