John McAfee software engineer and entrepreneur commits suicide in Spanish jail

"I have nothing. Yet, I regret nothing."

So at 75, he lived the high life and went with a clear conscience, I guess. I only heard about McAfee in the past several years, and it was all bad stuff. So, only since he was wanted for tax fraud, and only wacko shenanigans. hmmm

He was held in a Spanish jail for tax evasion in the US. If extradited, would he have remained in jail while awaiting trial? At the speed the justice system moves, you’d think he could have got a few more years on the outside while awaiting trial. @ohioboy has some thoughts?

McAfee is well known as an eccentric and nut-job. I think he was caught up in a murder investigation that he was able to lie his way out of. I forget all the details, but I remember a friend of mine trying to discuss this issue with me maybe 10 years ago. I heard that he lived in some tropical area and ran around naked all the time. This is why I called him an eccentric and nut-job. Maybe I have the worng guy here, but I think some of what I wrote is correct.
