Judge Judy gave a young bully his comeuppance

I watched a case on Judge Judy yesterday.
Short story, two school boys had a fight and one of them had his glasses broken.
The mother of the child who had his glasses broken wanted to get the other mother to pay for new glasses.
The boy who had his glasses broken started picking on the other boy, after a while the other boy got sick of it and managed to get the glasses off the bully and snapped them in half.
Judge Judy got stuck into the bully boy saying you started the bullying and did not like the outcome.
To his mother she said, "You pay for your son's glasses, he is nothing but a bully. He started harassing the boy and got his comeuppance"
"You are his life teacher and you are doing a poor job so far"
The other people in the court room applauded the decision. Never seen that in Judge Judy's courtroom before.

We all realize, I hope, that what appears on Judge Judy is a television show, not a real trial. Judith Sheindlin, although she was once a real judge, is now an actor playing the role of a judge. Her "courtroom" is a set in a television/movie studio. The plaintive and defendant are also actors playing roles, even if what they are discussing was a real event. And whatver judgements Judy hands down are paid by the production company, not the "guilty" party.

Know nothing about Judge Judy except her pilot appeared to be quite lax. We used to spend the month of January in a beach condo in SW Florida for years. Her plane took a tumble in a big windstorm while parked in the Naples airport. Seems he'd forgot to block the wheels. Don't know if I'd trust flying with a "why didn't you check the checklist" pilot like that.

The defendant & plaintiff are the real people. The audience must be in screen actors guild.

Excellent!

I used to enjoy watching Judge Judy, now she is so aggressive and a smart -------- I can't be bothered her aggressive style is not a good look ,its more a bullying attitude.

I wish she was the high school principal when I was in the 10th grade.
A student in my physical ed. class tried to get me to fight him because I cost our "squad" the extra point because my socks didn't match perfectly in class. (he was the "Squad Leader.") I ignored him & his tough talk & walked away.
That angered him more & he started pushing & shoving (with the other students egging him on; they wanted to be entertained by a fight).
I told him I was wearing contact lenses & wouldn't get into a fight because I could be blinded. (at that time, contact lenses were hard plastic).
He responded by trying to punch me in the eye.
I punched him back. Two teeth flew out of his mouth & he fell unconscious. (I'm no fighter). An ambulance arrived a few minutes later.

The school principal later told me he had 2 facial fractures & I was suspended for a week for "Fighting in school."
What fairness!!
I told the principal, "Would you be happier if I let him blind me?" He said, "You could have killed him."
I said, "Why not make my suspension longer? This school is a dump, anyway."

raybar, you're quite right. it is a TV show. Everybody on the show gets paid, and they are encouraged to add 'drama' to the set. They also sign numbers of waivers to protect Judy from lawsuits. It's TV, but you have to admit Judy is great TV. That's why she was making the big bucks.

Never watched her courtroom TV show but I've watched her ont he news. She doesn't pull any punches! She says it like it is!
She says things that most people think but would never say aloud. She knows how to capture one's attention!
