While this is true in principle, I'd also acknowledge that when it comes to cases of pedophilia, let alone the whole Epstein thing, then the gossip hounds lap it up, and insinuation and accusation rule the day. The whole conspiracy aspect alone with run and run, and innocent people are going to get caught up in it.

I mean, a list of people who knew him will be a very long one indeed. A multi-millionaire who worked as a money-manager for billionaires - he's going to know anyone who's anyone. He was a power broker, which is how he knows Clinton and Trump.

Honestly, if there isn't a salacious angle to this, I fail to see why the list of names would be big news.

Gossip and rumors....So what?

If there is a salacious angle to this (as I suspect), then some extremely wealthy scumbags who think they're untouchable and entitled to do whatever ITF they want to whomever the F they please will likely find out that ain't so; that there IS such a thing as karma; getting what you gave; eating the slop you dished out.

These are all celebrities of one kind of another, who trade in their reputations. They're also in the public eye. If someone gossips about you and I, no-one cares. But for these people it's something different. In fact, you ask "so what?", and then go on to rattle off a attack on "scumbags". I'd say, your second paragraph is the reason we should tread carefully. The fact is, sexual assault, let alone pedophilia, and not seen as just another crime - even an accusation can be extremely damaging.

It goes without saying, anyone found guilty should suffer for it - but this appears to be a simple list of names, with some guilty folk mixed in with what appear to be innocent people. I don't think your first paragraph is entirely congruent with your previous post.
 
I would not be surprised to find that some of the illegal alien children who go missing are being "skimmed' for white slavery or worse by the rich and powerful. Sure, they also want a docile inexpensive source of domestic and other labor, but there is probably a long laundry list of reasons behind immigration "reform" proposals that decade after decade have been amnesties for the immigrants and those who traded in them.

So it's a bigger story than the people trying hard to sweep it under the carpet now would have you believe.
 
I don't know if people hung with because he was a money guy or they knew who he knew it they went to pedo island to network/solicit money for something. I'd still like to see the finances on his 'legit' income.

Well, some will have been clients of his money management business. It's also no surprise whatsoever that a very rich man knew other very rich people. Also, since his clients will have been celebrity types, that he knew a lot of them also.

If they're innocent, the attorneys they can certainly afford shouldn't have any difficulty proving it.

If they're guilty, they can't blame gossip and rumors for going down in flames.

And if I was a well-known billionaire, equally wise as wealthy and concerned about my reputation, I'd never go near an Epstein event. The "party-favors" he could offer were no secret.

But that doesn't address the central problem - in cases like this, the mud sticks, innocent or not. Think Michael Jackson, Cliff Richard, etc. Neither was convicted, but took a reputational hit. Their livelihood is their reputation. It's not a matter of their being accidentally convicted at all.

I don't think we'll agree on this, so I'll leave it there. Suffice to say, I think your post embodies my concerns stated earlier. They need tom careful, because once tarnished with this type of accusation or insinuation, it never goes away.
 
We're dealing with an American society that has become jaded with ultra low expectations of people, not just the powerful, but in general. I'm not sure what 'reputation' means anymore as some are rewarded despite their outrageous acts. We're developing an immunity to decency.
 
A phone message from an unnamed girl advising 'she needs to stay in school' is contained in newly-released court documents relating to the associates of pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The third batch of Epstein documents were released Friday and included phone messages left for the pedophile and twenty-nine other exhibits.

One of the messages from unnamed female reads 'she is wondering if 2:30 is OK cuz she needs to stay in school'.

Another document also alleges that Epstein, Virginia Giuffre and Ghislaine Maxwell would 'all go out to clubs to pick up girls and try to find them to bring back for Jeffrey'.

That document had been part of the deposition of Tony Figueroa, a driver for Epstein and Maxwell as well as a former boyfriend of accused Giuffre.

The first two dumps of documents revealed more details about Epstein's friendships with Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton.

Clinton was named 73 times in the documents that linked him with Epstein who he was frequently pictured with.

The pedophile financier made at least 17 visits to the White House, presidential logs show, and Bill Clinton also flew on Epstein's private jet - making trips to Europe, Asia and Africa in 2002 and 2003.

It's really "old news" about Andrew, Clinton and that French guy who killed himself. For days now, press have been teasing about named cohorts, but nothing is coming out that wasn't known years ago.

Maybe I just gave up reading the same ol' same ol'. Or I missed the boat entirely as I am sometimes wont to do.

He also had a Palm Beach compound. Supposedly his financial company only had one well known/high profile client in the early days. So how did he get his reputation as a finance guy. Do his investments cover payouts to clients?

Can't believe there no signs of his proclivities going into the 1970s or 1980s. It's noted he worked for Bear Stearns but they went bankrupt so digging for HR complaints probably wouldn't be easy if those records even still exist.
