I thought they were finished with him. Bad news....:(

California civil jury on Monday found Bill Cosby liable for drugging and sexually assaulting former waitress Donna Motsinger in 1972 and ordered him to pay $19.25 million in damages, according to multiple reports, another costly blow for the once-renowned comedian, who has faced a string of lawsuits since his release from prison that have threatened his fortune, homes and finances.

This topic was posted again yesterday, but considering the mud-slinging that was occurring when Cosby was FIRST accused (years ago), I kinda forced myself to not comment.

Note: the link you provided included links to the rest of the story, but can't access without a subscription.

Here's a link from MSN ( it says 59 million )
While it's obviously off-topic, I think that it's an excellent example of how we can really trust the media
for delivering the details of even a relatively simple story... put we often allow ourselves to build paradigms
about our cultural understanding/mindset based off of "news stories".

Here's my hint: If you're reading the News, understand that it's all fake news. 😅😂

And some fake news comes not just from the news media but from some who are in positions of power.

1/2 century old case. Judging by Cosby's history probably guilty. But would decades old crimes, incidents etc be taken to a civil court with overwhelming evidence if Cosby or any other celebrity was a pennyless drunk or addict living on the streets?

On the other hand if the victims are willing to talk about the crime on the record in a court 50 years later it shows how much they were affected by the crime/perp and any monies awarded might help them move on.

I'm going to trust that the courts got it right with Cosby. He racked up serious wealth as a comedian but it sounds like he groomed his victims and then tried to hide behind his wealth and comedic career.

meant to put this here for Paco

this is what AI said:

As of March 25, 2026,
Bill Cosby was ordered to pay a total of
$59.25 million in damages following a civil lawsuit in California.

The New York Times
On March 23, 2026, a jury in Santa Monica found Cosby liable for the 1972 drugging and sexual assault of Donna Motsinger. The total award is comprised of two distinct phases:

Compensatory Damages ($19.25 million): This initial award includes $17.5 million for past mental suffering and $1.75 million for future suffering, covering emotional distress, anxiety, and humiliation.

Punitive Damages ($40 million): Following a separate phase of the trial, the jury awarded an additional $40 million meant to punish the defendant after finding he acted with "malice, oppression, or fraud".

i think it was confusing because the nyt and forbes both had two separate posts with different amounts.
