Yes, "country" in the past 15 years or so has become the new "elevator music", best left for piped in music heard in restrooms at Pilot, Loves, Buc-ee's and the like.

Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys was a favorite of my dads so of course I didn't like the sound (along with country music in general ) when I was a kid and a teen. But as I got older I learned to appreciate the music my dad enjoyed.
