just one post from me

I really don't care who knows my real name. I use it elsewhere, but was urged to find a sobriquet, as someone else has the same name as mine here. Furthermore, I have, and still do enjoy pms with several people here, and I respect their desire to use an alias on the forum. I do know many of the folks here from other forums and Facebook, but seldom if ever make contact on those sites. As for reading threads and comments, if they interest me, I become involved and do remember who wrote them.

It isn't necessary, in my opinion, to always acknowledge a person's statement. I certainly don't expect it from anyone at all. If I write something and someone comments on it, fine. If not, that's fine as well.

Janice, I hope you feel better after all our comments, for we do know who you are and do read your comments.

I’m sorry, it didn’t occur to me anyone would reply to my post here.

I might owe an apology or at least an explanation. It’s not a good idea to put TMI or PII on a publicly-visible forum, and it’s also sensible to be careful in sharing info privately. What I meant was when people make it clear that some are left out.

Also- I want to thank the members who sent me messages after I posted. I will answer as soon as I can. And, a huge apology to a member who contacted me a couple of years ago, when I was off the forum for a long time; somehow I’d forgotten.

I want to thank everyone who posted comments and sent messages.. both are very much appreciated and helpful!!!

Four words that help me in my daily life "keep it simple stupid" 💋. Before anyone gets insulted. I am not inferring anyone is stupid. I use this phrase as well as a few others several times a day to help keep myself grounded. I have been accused of being able to complicate a simple cup of water.

I belong to 4 forums and enjoy reading and sometimes posting. I don’t know anyone’s real name and don’t send private messages. I don’t think forums can be a replacement for friends in real life. I think forums are a nice supplement so I wouldn’t worry about any of those things.

I am on several forums and the best way to get to know folk is to be active.
There are probably several folk on here with similar interests to you...post about them and see what happens.
If someone becomes a regular on your posts they are a potential friend..then PMs become a thing.
I think I've just connected with a Welsh rugby fan on another forum...it can happen.
i have three online friends with whom I PM regularly....but it took time for us go from being on each others posts to exchanging PMs.
And they all know my name! And me theirs. But that took time too.

I think everyone is somewhat stupid and of course I include myself.......maybe even at the top of the list.

Janice, I've always liked you and enjoyed reading your posts. I rarely communicate with private messages, and many times I don't have time to read and reply to all new posts. I don't use my first name online, but a couple of folks here know my name from past private messages.

Please don't be too hard on yourself, you have absolutely done nothing wrong at all. It's easy to imagine you are being ignored or dismissed on a forum, but it's not always true. I appreciate you and it's been a pleasure having you here as part of the community. Sending you love and hugs, please know we care. 💙
